The economy is turning, even M5 CSs are correcting. Don't buy BMWs as investments unless you want to hold for 20+ years. |

One would think at this price point the M4 CSL would have full carbon fiber for the outside bits (side skirts, side vents, rear corners).....

In fact, was the E46 the only special edition M car that retained some of its value? |

Regardless of whether this or other M's appreciate, there are far better investments to park your money in over the longer term. Like 99.9999% of all cars it's a non-income earning object. Get one of these for the love of history, engineering and how it makes you feel when you drive it or look at it, not to make money. |

Everyone got excited about this, and it's exactly what we all expected. A slightly lighter M4 with a power boost. Have we not been down this road with BMW lately? Here's something a little better than last time. And it's exclusive so we'll charge double.
It is not an investment, no car is. It's an emotional purchase. You will need to get over the emotions of: - Yes, you can buy 2 M4s for the same price - Yes, you can modify an M3 or M4 to be faster, handle better, and sexier than this for less money - Yes, you can buy it if you really want a 'one of a kind', with the knowledge that the next generation M will dethrone it. This will be a car that you will see in some garage. You're not going to see it on the road, probably not going to see it on the track. I still can't get past the fact that it doesn't seem to follow the same hood lines as the M3 & M4. I'm trying to see whether it's an optical illusion, or whether they really did bring those divots in the hood closer to the windshield. |

It's not an optical illusion. They changed the design of the hood. I'm not quite sure it looks better.

I agree most will keep it locked in the garage and take some Sunday rides but you would be surprised how many GT3s get used on the track 2-3 years and traded for new ones and the cycle is repeated and has been going for many years.

I think you have to look at all the mistakes BMW made with the M4 GTS and realize that this is definitely a step in the right direction for an extreme road worthy M car.
They got rid of the roll cage, crazy aero, and stiff suspension and made it a road racer first, and occasional track car second. Just like a GT Porsche, you get in and go fast.. no ride height to adjust, no need to crawl under the car and adjust shocks and a proper seat of buckets to hold you in. Add a tune on this thing and its going to insane. |

I've driven BMWs for 18 years. I am about as loyal to the brand as it's possible to be. It's been getting worse for years but I've tried to see the positives. But this is frickin hideous.
It seems the relentless pursuit of attention seeking Instagrammers and 'HIGUYS' content creators has destroyed all sense of what this used to be about. If this is what profit now looks like for manufacturers, it's a sad day indeed. It's a dumpster fire of poor taste. The E46 CSL oozes quiet confidence, and rapid heart beats from those who know what it is. Just how it should be. This is Tiktok shite for children. I'm going across to Stuttgart. |
