Hello. Joining you in Week 22.

I was 14, 17, 14, 15, 21, and now 22.

I just got off the phone with a helpful Genius rep and she said that I can expect a VIN the week of production (May 30 through June 3).

She said that my car would not be bumped to MY23, which starts after Week 26/27. They don’t bump MY22 to MY23, but would cancel MY22 and reorder as a MY23.

Keeping my fingers crossed I don’t get bumped next week.

Yep. Week 22 now after being 19, 20, and 21. Genius told me that this week is the start of week 22, and sure enough, I got a VIN this morning. Hopefully everyone else with build week 22 gets one this week.

I was told by Genius for over a month that this week was Week 21. Then I got bumped to Week 22 and was told that is next week.

I don’t know what to think anymore.

I will call Genius this morning. Every time I called yesterday there were 5-7 people in line ahead of me. You guys are keeping them busy this week!

Genius just told me that I have been bumped to Week 23 (June 5-11), and that is the production completion week. They said that if Week 23 holds, I should expect production to start within the next week at which time I will get a VIN number. So this makes sense and matches with what others are saying here that VIN numbers are issues up to 10 days before your production week (which is actually completion week).

Just checked, SA asked for the end of this week for a concrete answer. They see orders getting bumped to MY23, will follow up Friday again.

Where do you call a genius in Canada, thought this is in the US only?

After putting my order in August of 2021 and receiving an allocation in January of 2022, the car finally has a VIN! BMW Genius told me the production date was mid-June but the developer tools are showing that the production date is 2022-06-08 so it looks like it might have moved up a week to week 23.

So Pilla and I are also IOMG.....I'll be interested to see if you get a VIN soon. It can't be much fun or efficient to be constantly changing paints for the factory.
