It takes a special kind of person to believe any of the horseshit that comes out of Elon's mouth. Whatever he says, it'll take a couple years to become reality, it will cost a different amount and it may be built in a tent outdoors

All mine M3/4 were MT and I love it. I bought F90 M5 which doesn't look as good or sound good and I spend 30K on aftermarket parts to make that beast more enjoyable and end up selling because I am just a hardcore M3 MT guy. And I used to track them for many years

Clearly it was due to packaging of the driveline and an increase in hp and torque. They ended up designing a DCT for the car allegedly because nothing they could find available was good enough.. Agree there will be plenty of MT buyers . |

The gear selector is the same for both DCT and automatic M cars, at least the current generation. My boss's automatic X5M has the same selector as my DCT M3.

This bit is interesting. Talking about a "Sound" button in the center console.
The "Sound" button allows you to make the car quieter. Why not make it louder? I wonder if you can code the car to do the opposite and open the exhaust flaps when you press that button instead?

The configurator on the Belgian BMW website specifies CO2 output for a manual M4 at 227g/km. Using that value to fill out the tax simulator (https://belastingen.fenb.be/ui/public/vkb/simulatie) gets me the following results:
The DCT version is specified at 213g/km, which leads to the following results:
I’ll agree that the DCT is considerably cheaper, but it’s still well north of your claimed €3k figure. So unless you’re telling me the tax simulator is completely and utterly wrong, I think perhaps you should get your facts straight instead before pointing fingers at others who did their research... |

Not sure how it works outside the EU, but yeah, basically all cars lost the ability to open and close the flaps at the driver's will, sadly. |

Is the S58 built on the standard production line at Steyr in Austria like the S55?

Here, when you press that button, you allow the valves to open given a certain RPM. Meaning they wont always be open. With the button deactivated the valves will be closed at all times. |

The S55 with OPF in EU also has a cold start with valves open, closes them afterwards until 4k RPM (depends on gear but mostly 4k) on Sport + |

BMW no longer publishes these documents. The information is now provided to dealership employees in online training courses.

I believe it has a 48v starter that serves as both the starter and assists the engine.
