827M CSL Wheels powder coated with Prismatic Colors

I had bought a set of black 827M CSL wheels for my G80 as a summer set up to be used on my PZeros. Since my current 826M wheels with Conti DWS set up is also black, wanted to go with a different color. Since the release of the M3 CS, I loved the Frozen/Satin bronze color and wondering if I can pull it off. Went with the Prismatic Powders powder coating -Roman Bronze which seem close to the BMW color. It was $150/wheel and did ceramic coating for $30/wheel and my cost per wheel was still lower than the 827M Frozen Bronze by about $150-200/wheel. So I would say its worth it and I cant wait for summer to put these on !!! I would like to thank Limegrntaln and chicagofan00 for their inspiration on the 1000M Gold Bronze wheels.

This is beautiful. I'm probably going to just go OEM since my finance manager (AKA wife) gave me the approval to get them but man going that route is mighty tempting.

Lol. I think my “finance manager” doesnt know how much im spending

If I hadnt gotten the black CSL wheels, I would have gone OEM. Since I had gotten them before the M3CS was released, figured I could do something different without getting another set of wheels

Broski! These look bad ass. I’m glad you found a color that’s so close to the 1000M wheels.

This puts me in a good/ bad spot. I need some of these! Roman Bronze. Wow! Congrats. And thanks for the tag. I didn’t want to miss these.

On the prismatic site, I see Roman Bronze and Roman Bronze II. This is just Roman Bronze, not II, correct?

Ok, great. That answers it. PMB-4811. Looks so good. And what’s even better is, I’m sure there is better coverage. The coverage on the 1000Ms isn’t great. It’s like it painted in silver and then dusted in bronze. Leaves it patchy and uncovered in the crevices.

Frankly after seeing the stuff chicagofan00 went through, I figured I might be better off powder coating through a reputable company. It turned out surprisingly better that what I expected. So cant wait to swap my wheels soon but realistically its gonna be like April or May

I was going to mention that. But it’s a sore spot for chicagofan00 you’re probably better off.

I’m over it…but yes, I would think in most instances you’d get a better job from a third party shop than what is passing the QC of BMW on the 1000M wheels. 😬

Its the lighting. In some pics they do look silvery. I have the LED lights in my garage and it was overcast and raining. So thats why it looks a bit like silver

It’s similar to how my 1000Ms look in different lighting. Silvery inside and more bronze on the car, and in more outside conditions. The extreme closeups were taken inside, except where the pics are clearly on the car. The rest are under sunny conditions.

Yes, definitely more like your 1000m wheels!

The CS wheels looks like 1000m or the OP color in shadow, it's much more Gold in sunny conditions. Will post pics of my 827m GB soon. Perhaps tomorrow, they are somewhere between Germany and my dealer.

They do to me too but I see the subtle gold hint. That said, I think it’s a really nice look for Portimao. Probably better than the actual 1000M color, which might be a little STI-ish on Portimao.
