Hi guys

Looking to order the 1000M’s with or without the oe V107

I’m very fussy when it comes to tyres, more so from a comfort/nvh pov as our coarse bitumen roads here in Australia are quite brutal for in cabin nvh

Has anyone compared the v107 to an ots mp4s fitment on the 1000M?

Watched a comparo from the tire guy and it seems the v107 is a track focused tire with sharper turn in and break away, so I can see why bmw chose this Tyre for the M performance wheel set, but is it too much for street?

Leaning towards the regular non star MP4s setup, only thing that triggers my ocd is front have normal sidewall and rear has the different design premium touch sidewall

Garage List
I think they're great tires. Wet weather was the most surprising, for me. I don't ever drive my car in the rain, on purpose, but, I actually found myself in the rain, on the way back from a cars and coffee, one weekend, and I was really surprised at how well they were in the rain. I even tried launch control, to get an idea of how much grip I was going to lose, in the wet. It didn't even feel like the tires spun, to me.

As far as NVH goes, I didn't notice any difference in noise, it vibration. They felt the same. I think they are really balanced well, from the factory. And I have the M Drivers Package, so, Im not subject to the 155 or 249kmh. My car goes the full 184 or 296km. They feel solid, even at higher speeds.

The harshness is subjective, although, I don't think there will be much of a difference between the V107s, and the Michelin. The fact of the matter is, youre still dealing with a 30/25 sidewall, regardless of which tire you go with. But, to me, they are a little stiffer, but, it wasn't a game changer. The tires handle really well, in the dry.

If you want to avoid any question of whether or not the tires are going to be the problem, order them separately. Here are the part numbers for the Yokohama V107 Star. Although, I struggle to find them in stock anywhere. I will also say, that the tread will last quite a while. I have over 4,000 miles on mine, and the center casting marks, where the tires were molded, are still present. Look at the center of the tread, in the picture, below. Still has the casting mark.

Yokohama Advan v107 Front Star 285/30/20: 36-12-5-A07-273

Yokohama Advan v107 Rear Star 295/25/21: 36-12-5-A07-274

Thanks mate for that feedback

Yes I think I’ll order the complete wheel set with tyres as a spare part here in aus, try the v107 and if they are a bit too harsh, I can always swap to the Michelins

I used to swap tyres out on all my new cars on day 1 for the generic mpss/mp4s, but recent new cars I’ve bought I started to appreciate the oe specific changes
