vorsteiner grill thoughts

Have a brand new one sitting in the box at my detailer that he’s supposed to install with all the other stuff he’s doing for me (shoutout Detailers Domain ) however I’m debating sending it back to IND. For those who have it installed what do you think? Every time I see a pic I’m torn. I love it in some pics and eh in others. I did order it with the mesh which I do think makes it look better.

I assume you mean the CF GT3 style. I went through two of them. The first would cause the PDC sensors to go off just about every time the car stopped for any reason. The second never made it on to the car because the PDC sensor bracket broke off. I ended up going with their ABS grill instead and I couldn't be happier with it. No PDC sensors going off for no reason and I think it actually looks better than the CF on my car (this might not be true for other colors/trims).

Note that the CF picture is with the PDC sensors removed because they wouldn't stop going off (the first install).

Same color, just M3 and yeah I think the ABS looks better. Thanks for the feedback!

Damn, now I’m worried about installing my Vorsteiner CF grill lol. Anyone else have similar issues??

I just spent hours trying to install the ABS Vorsteiner grill without luck. For some reason, the bottom wouldn’t go all the way in. I called EAS and they said to completely remove the foam. Has anyone here have to do that as well? Thx

You either have to remove the front foam (that's what EAS did on mine) or carve out a large notch in the foam for each of the PDC sensors.

I carved like a 3x3 hole on the foam and it still wouldn't fit...I guess removing the foam seems like the best option but I would like to keep the foam as much as possible. It does have a purpose there

It is just frustrating and disappointing that Vorsteiner in their install video, only cuts a tiny hole, that does not seem to have worked for anybody out there...would have been better to get an accurate install video of what exactly is needed to make this thing fit.

Quick update, I removed the entire foam, it still does not fit well. This should have been real straight forward but unfortunately it is not...2 technicians and myself (which I do most of the work on my car myself) have looked into it and the thing just doesn't fit as they say it should. Also a bit disappointed that despite my attempts to contact Vorsteiner, there has been 0 response from them.

That’s ridiculous and I’d expect better out of Vorsteiner_Info

Just to clarify... do you have a fitting issue while installing the grill into the bumper, but before installing the bumper back onto the car? Or does it install into the bumper without issue and it is it only when you attempt to mount the bumper that you have interference from the foam or other obstacle?

the grill fits perfectly into the bumper. the issue is when trying to reinstall the bumper into the car. the lower section has about a 1 inch gap between the bumper and the fairing

Update: I’ve had them install it after giving it some thought. I’ll update after I pick up the car and will let y’all know if I have issues with the PDC sensors.

Is the general concensus that the ABS vorsteiner grill always has issues?

You will 100% need to modify or remove the bumper foam with the Vorsteiner ABS grill. The CF grill seems to be hit or miss with respect to having PDC sensor issues, with a lot of misses.

Are you all having issues with the PDC sensor tilting out of position once installed and going crazy or are the sensors flush and still causing issues?

With the ABS grill or the CF grill?
