Best way to get in and out of the bucket seats?
The buckets seats are great to look at and surprisingly comfortable. But let's face it, they are a nightmare to get in and out of. You do it like any other seat and you risk scuffing up the bolsters. You try to get in without touching the bolsters and the rivets in your jeans scratch the bottom of the damn steering wheel ... ugh.
Here's what's been working for me. Slide seat back to where there is enough space between you and the steering wheel. Then hop out without scuffing the bolsters using the steering wheel as a support to pull you off the seat. When getting in, I just hop in. The landing hurts sometimes because the seat is so firm, lol. Wife looks at me with the WTF face. Anyone else figured out more elegant and graceful solution to this? I know that the bolsters themselves are supported by the carbon fiber frame, but the leather won't last.

Leather will last longer than the stitching. When the stitching becomes a problem, my plan is to become a customer of the nearby reupholstery shop.

use arm as lever prop your body up against the door sill and/or center armrest and lift yourself over and into the seat.. sounds cumbersome but im used to it
real downside is you cant be holding anything in your hands when you try to go in and out of these seats

I set my 1 and 2 buttons to
1-"driver mode" 2-"Entry/exit mode"-all the way back and down To exit I put my hand on the far back part of the door sill Shift in the seat so my knees are pointing out Then I just kind of hop/fall out like I'm jumping over a railing To get in I basically just reverse that process Put hand on door sill and kind of fall in backwards over the bolster Then I hit the 1 button to engage race car seating mode You definitely have to place all your items in the car first because like OP said you can't have anything in your hands to get into these puppies Crazy to have a thread about how to get into and out of a car😂 |

Right shoulder on the seat back. Hip flex up. Play a game of operation and carefully avoid contact with bolster and steering wheel. Thread the needle. Great for core strength. Then gently flop onto seat avoiding the cf cod piece between your legs

Folks, I know the CF bucket seats look awesome and all that, and in a way comfortable to some... with all these in & out effort, does it really worth it (most just for the look), especially if it is your daily driver? I am still deciding which one to pick, waiting on my 2022 M3Cx allocation

Im prety short and fat :-) and they are more confartable than my m140i standard seats. I have a knack of just kind of flopping in and out. I must look like a seal covered in baby oil trying to fit into bike inner tube... But it works for me. I was dead against them - but I would not want the car with out them now. If I were you were I test them both if you can, I did and glad I did. I would also get them on my next car as well I like them that much - BUT everything is subjective so you really need to try them. |

I do the memory 1 to drive, memory 2 to enter/exit. Wish they had a way to auto move to entry exit position when you open the door. I had a C7 Corvette that had that option and it made it a lot easier. I have a manual and position my seat forward for a more comfortable clutch, so I literally can't get out without risk getting wedged in between the steering wheel and seat.
I love the look of the bucket seats, but after 500 miles I'm thinking I would have preferred the standard seats for these reasons. I'm hoping as time goes on I'll get used to it. Once I'm driving these seats are awesome, just wish that seat bolster was a little lower |

I brought this up in another thread but no responses... has anyone tried exiting ass first? Like lean with hand on center arm rest and push/step out backwards?

I just hold myself on the steering wheel, get my left feet out and push myself up. of course you always touch the side bolster, but I keep it to a minimum "scratch" (don't know how to say exactly, sorry). or the other way: seat completely back and then it's hell of easy to get out. |

I can't tell if this is a real suggestion???? Imagining someone getting out of their car ass first seems funny.

Kidding aside, I test drove a car with them and loved them. I was convinced that I had to have them. I've since convinced myself that is a bad idea, and don't plan to get them, but that has nothing to do with ingress/egress awkwardness. |
