Steering wheel bolt size?
Folks, I will be replacing the stock wheel with a carbon fiber wheel. Does anyone know what size of the wheel bolt and torque? Or the whole process of removing airbag and buttons on G82 model?
Any help is appreciated. |

To be honest if you don't already have the right tools for this kind of job maybe you shouldn't tackle a steering wheel removal..
Airbag manipulation can be extremely dangerous.

I have done dozen of such types of job in various cars I've owned and there is nothing dangerous about....if you know what you're doing This is new car platform so I thought there is different bolt size and trim setup and just wonder who has done before me. So I could have benefit rather than starting on my own. Last edited by MMnut; 05-15-2021 at 08:18 PM.. |

Unfortunately I have done these jobs and much more, I only wanted to save someone from an injury but you seem confident with your past experiences.
As for a DIY, I found this one wich should be very similar, took me 2min. of searching https://x3.xbimmers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1444289 Cheers

Sure thanks for the effort. I can find it myself. I'm asking the G8x specifically. There are similarities but also variant across models so just wanna check for this new platform.

Have a link ? Why do you need the size of the bolt/nut in advance ? It should be a regular size metric socket What model G series did you buy/own that you want to do this mod ?

Custom made empty wheel Have a link ? no, local made Why do you need the size of the bolt/nut in advance ? It should be a regular size metric socket It could be the same, I have done on my wife car X02 but again as said this is a whole new build so could be a different one. BMW uses different type of Bolt and size, Audi has different type and size, and same goes to Merc and so on What model G series did you buy/own that you want to do this mod ? On my first post. I would not think there is a different between MT and competition, would it ? Last edited by MMnut; 05-15-2021 at 09:50 PM.. |
