I think what gets me is the hypocritical nature of crying that detractors need to be banned then when they are turning around and making comments about those guys is a similar troll fashion knowing they can't defend themselves on the thread. That is, I hate the interwebs.

If you don't want to start an argument then don't enumerate several points (all of which were valid), then compare me to members who are responsible for some of the most ridiculous "meltdowns" and diatribes the internet has ever seen (or at the very least these forums have produced) over the shape of a grille, and conclude by calling me a troll (I'm not).

I really want to want the G80 if that makes sense. I love my G20 and it would be the perfect upgrade. It's really just the looks holding me back, maybe by the time my G20 lease is up I'll get over it. I appreciate the very low noise floor of the G20, given they removed all the sound deadening from the G80 its probably a lot louder. From the C&D tests 5-6dba louder which is a lot.

You need to reread those comments I think. You're way off. People were literally calling for Flasch's head and declaring he should forfeit his retirement savings...

Congrats, beautiful combo!
Although, I do not agree that the interior quality is better. Yes, it does look updated and fresh but the quality of materials and the symmetry was better in F8x. But, if we are comparing with competitors, then I would agree. Even Audis have been going downhill these days with their interior quality, when BMW seems to have maintained their standards. IMO, it's more about the tech and looks rather than the underlying quality itself with interiors these days and there's nothing wrong with approach, I suppose. |

Might be because there's more electronics involved when operating the clutch on a 'manual' tranmission than before?
There was some pre-release talk about a clutch-by-wire (-ish) system, but I haven't followed up on it. |

Congrats on the car! The infotainment in the G80 is much better than the Porsche. Sound/ speaker wise hands down goes to Porsche though. Our Burmester in the Porsche is surely missed.
Waiting for the markups on G80 M3s to go down. Currently my dealer said 10k markup. Unbelievable… |

I don't know if this is still true for G8x but in F3x, the "CDV" was a restrictor hidden inside the clutch slave cylinder. I thought I had made a thread on it but now I can't find it. I was one of the first to take a gamble and remove the restrictor and it made the shifting experience much better in my F30 340i than the stock setup. You can't see the restrictor in parts diagrams because it is inside the slave cylinder, disconnect a line and use a pick to pull it out before re-connecting the line and bleeding the fluid. Pretty much the exact same improvement as on earlier cars when you would pull out the separate clutch delay valve and throw it away.

Hmm... 🤔
I think this depends on what your dollar and value proposition is. I think many will argue that the M2C is a strong contender for the best value proposition out of BMW M's entire lineup. Congrats on the ride though! Great spec |
