So you have V2 seats with V1 springs? That sounds awesome and will probably go a little lower than a full V1 setup. Where did you buy the new V1 springs?

I think they issue with the V2 springs is they did no R&D and just slapped in some softer rated springs.

The V2 springs are definitely softer up front,
Probably too much travel going on resulting in that rubbing.

I hope they don't damage the shocks by having too much range of motion

I need to get to the bottom of this but it's just so time consuming, I don't want my car on the ramp for a 3rd time.

It's so nice when things just work as intended but when they don't it's so frustrating

Didn't you have V1 springs at first? If so, would you put them back on?

Odd that I am not noticing this behavior on my car with V2 springs. I double checked the box and it clearly says 02bBMWMG28 on it. Unless they shipped V1 springs in the V2 kit in my case. It was shipped right around the time they introduced the V2 kit. I got my kit from XPH.

Yes, I have the V1 still.

Debating what to do. I don't think I would go back to the V1 as they didn't give the drop I was after so would possibly change to another brand or just go back to OEM and not have these head aches.

It is a minor head ache to have faint squeaking but it makes me think something is not operating correctly and I'd be worried that the shocks could wear out quickly with these springs

That's exactly what happened to my car with the V2 spring kit installed, the coils were binding / over-compressing on themselves - you have seen my other post I expect as I've now had mine removed

I'm concerned about any potential damage to my front dampers so I've booked my car into BMW on Monday 5th Sept for an inspection to either give me peace of mind, or to give me further evidence of the springs being unfit for the car they're being sold for

Someone had V1 on here with adjuster and I thought they adjusted it to be the same drop with V2. Both springs were the same size but the adjuster is what made the difference in drop. I could be wrong but it's worth looking back at posts.

Yeah that is correct, it was only marginally higher but much stiffer (better) ride up front. This is way too soft up front, it's like a boat.

The car dives forward under breaking

Quick update, I installed the v1 springs on the v2 front seat and the results are perfect.

I left 5 mm's on the front height adjusters (down from 10mm on the v2's).

The ride is no longer harsh. The front end doesn't crash !

I'd describe the ride as slightly stiffer then stock,

Thanks again Ben@RGsport

Yup I posted it, the v1 front spring rate is definitely better suited to the car.

Lol, for the early buyers, remember they were going to charge us to purchase the v2 spring set. And now we're having more issues than previously.

And they're not being up open and transparent with it, instead making out it's either and installation issue, or they behaving as designed, or the customer is basically lying....

I'm not going to blame the retailer because they are the middleman. In my case, Ben is working with me to come up with a resolution. I typically like giving someone a chance to fix a solution before I point fingers. Now I'm not saying you ate doing this but just stating my case for what's happening on my end. Appreciate your input to help show light to what's happening

Fair enough, however having only had my car for 6 months and being sold something that renders it almost un-driveable, I'm sure you can understand why someone might not want to work through the problem.

There is clearly an issue with at least a batch of the V2 kit, so they should acknowledge it.

weird.. mine doesn't. I wonder if mine are v1 springs then. I did get them around the time the kits transitioned.

Do you mind explaining why you adjusted it 5mm lower. I'm having mine done thus week finally with the V1 version and I know the springs will settle after about 1k. Love the way the car looks now after it settled.

The v1 front springs have less ''sag''. The 5mm lower adjustment is to compensate for the stiffer spring.

That's assuming your going to use the v2 front rubber spring seat**
