ive heard that silicone pipes are better for IAT and temps, is this true? I have seen some complain of aluminum pipes retaining too much heat, but it is this common an worth going for silicone over aluminum

This has been discussed and fought over on car forums for decades. Look, when it’s all said and done, plastic and silicone tubing will insulate better than metal, but people always argue that fast flowing air won’t heat soak. All that said, I personally have changed out crack and break prone plastics for silicone ones if quality ones that won’t collapse or slip off are available. I get robustness and know for sure they won’t develop cracks and I’m not adding a new piece of hot bling you can’t touch under the hood either, but I’ve also been more of a function over form kind of person anyway… black silicone hoses to replace stock ones on my builds if possible and I never have to fuxk with them again and they look stock to the untrained eye.

Silicon does take longer to heat up but it does retain heat longer than aluminum. Both materials have pros and cons.

Our front mount was tested to have a slightly lower ait than the factory intake from 60-130 even it was only a few degrees..

Probably, will you notice any difference in power output? Unlikely.

Let's be honest, stock intakes are quite efficient, especially when quality filters are added.

For many, the primary focus when adding front intakes will be the enhanced sound and aesthetics, with any power gains seen as an added bonus.

What you don't want is a loss of power to get the above.

Depends on the situation but either way you will not notice any difference in performance on a street car.
