Did any one else notice rear roof fins seen on the latest G82 prototype photos?
Ya all are beating the grill to death— get over it already!

+1 I totally missed those but another sign that this car will take functional aero to a new level for the M3/M4. Other signs are the wide lip in the leaked front and rear pictures and the hinted fender vents.
Built for serious track speed . I can’t wait to hear the reviews from the camouflaged cars Scott26 said will be driven by the press ahead of official reveal. For sure there will be track sessions somewhere warm and dry. And the car looks really good coming off the truck with it’s short front overhang and low roofline while being reasonably compact. I guess we need to be patient another six months or so before we see those pre-launch drive impressions. Sigh... Last edited by solstice; 12-17-2019 at 10:50 PM.. |

Your welcome, cause everyone is still delusional over the front aspect. Car could come equipped with a Rusian model sitting shotgun, but 99% of owners wouldn't notice as they would still be fixated on the front grill.

Do remember that there exists extra cladding to hide the actual lines. We aren't seeing the full scope of this car's muscularity.

In general the concept looks like a mashup of an A5, Q60 and giant grills, and it looks like they've gotten rid of the cladding over the rear window of the test models as the "kink" can be seen in clearer detail when zoomed in. Even if it was cladding, which I doubt it as this looks different than older test cars, it will still look similar to that of the concept which looks similar to an A5 and Q60.

Poochie is right again. The 2020 m340i grew in length by 3 inches over the 2019. So it is safe to assume the G80/G82 M3 and M4 will grow by the corresponding 3 inches. The cars look huge in pictures, I can only imagine how big they will look up close. Plus no DCT is very disappointing. The X3M may have more sales due to current market conditions.

The car is supposed to go on sale next year yet there isn’t a single mention of how the engine responds to different altitude and high lateral G corners, how the transmission reacts to user inputs. Or how the car will be totally different from the very disappointing X3M. I don’t give a shit about gesture control or massage seats in an M3. |

I want more true driver car, less spaceship. Otherwise I'd just get a reg 5 series.

Don't they always? Each iteration of ///M is objectively.......and significantly..... better than the previous model. Subjectively is another story.

As for rawness I suspect you are right to some degree, my F80 on passive suspension is significantly rawer than my E90 M3 was also on passive suspension. The F80 is stiffer and noisier and the interior materials feel like they are made of varnished cardboard clad in merino leather. The E90 felt all steel and vault like in comparison. What will the G8X feel like? My guess is that the passive suspension is gone and that the suspension is more comfortable and the car less noisy on the street in comfort settings making it less raw than the F8X in some aspects. Interior feel I guess will remain varnished cardboard |

People complain about how the new M3/4 will lose it's raw feel and focused too much on tech.
Honestly, I welcome the new tech and see it as a plus. For a daily driver, I see the new suite of BMW tech to be a vital necessity. I wish they would just filter it down on all of the previous gen models.

I find all that incredibly pointless and dull. Certainly won’t be buying into all that crap. Rather have a more focused pure experience. Probably why I love my M4CS, every journey feels unique and special.
