Active Autowerke G8X Equal Length Midpipe

BSM over red G80 M3 w/ carbon buckets came in today for an EL midpipe and some carbon over black chrome slip on tips today. Car has stock downpipes and rear exhaust, only other drivetrain modification is an aftermarket intake. She sounds and looks like an absolute beauty!

Love it and I can’t wait to receive and install it as well. But I can already tell I’m gonna need to do DP’s as well.

What's with the booger welds on the exhaust hanger? Why is the bracket made out of 3 pieces which are booger welded instead of a single piece that lazer/plasma cut? Do you honestly believe that adding bends in the tube in an effort to achieve equal length produces same flow as the straight pipe? I guarantee you that the bendy pipe has slower exhaust velocity that the straight one. So what's the point here?

Wait, what rear exhaust is on this? Not sure if you are intending to say stock DP's and stock rear exhaust or stock DP's and some other rear exhaust?

So far, this seems to be the best sounding equal length on the market. I'd like more sound clips, but from what I can tell so far, this is proper.

Curious if the shape does have a negative impact on power figures? Even if it was a minimal loss, the sound is the BIG SELL!

I haven't experienced any reduction in power.

I did a dyno test on the F-chassis M4 with the equal-length setup, and it didn't show any power loss. Therefore, I don't anticipate any loss of power on the S58 either.

Mid pipes don’t add power on these cars but if you’re looking for sound they make everything MUCH louder.

the only dyno result available is from Active Autowerke, which did demonstrate some gains.

I'd rather see customer dyno results for a more unbiased perspective, but there haven't been any so far.

Until more data becomes available, I wouldn't entirely dismiss the possibility of increased power based on the AA information.

I had the AA EL mid pipe on my previous M3 and it sounds amazing! The fit and finish in the product I received was great in my opinion. I’m considering adding this mid pipe to my M3 CS in the near future.

Check out my video for install details including before & after sound comparisons.
