"Chrome Trick" Chrome extension

I created a very simple chrome extension to provide those additional vehicle details so you don't have to go through the developer tools every-time.

**Now on the chrome store:**

https://chrome.google.com/webstore/d...gcjajoeodfpfon

Here's some screenshots:

I submit the extension to Google to get it on the Google chrome store but it can take up to 10 days.

If you would like to set this up you can manually install the extension.

Here's some quick instructions:

Download ZIP File here:

https://drive.google.com/file/d/1RjP...usp=share_link

Unzip the ZIP.

You will be uploading the "mygarage" folder inside that zip into chrome.

Go to your chrome extensions manager page:

1. chrome://extensions/
2. Click the Load unpacked button

3. Chrome will open an upload window. Select the "mygarage" folder.

You should now see the extension in your list of extensions:

Now you should pin the extension:

You can now head to either page while logged in:

https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/

https://mygarage.bmwusa.com/track-my-bmw.html

After the page loads click the BMW Icon and the additional information will load on the page.

If you want to see more info you can view the console and the data will be output:

Some things to note:
  • This was quickly put together and only tested on my mac/pc so it's possible it may not work for you.
  • If there's any other information you would like output, just let me know and I can update.
  • If you need any help installing or troubleshooting just ask me in this thread.

Seems like the web-app is a bit neglected. I'll take one free M3 for my hour of work.

Works like a charm! Well...sorta. I have two cars in My Garage. One (frozen dark gray) is a production number that my dealer gave me by mistake that does not belong to me. It's been stuck in 112 for quite some time and has been delayed by 4 weeks...unfortunate for whoever the real owner is. Since My Garage is a bit messed up and no longer gives you an option to delete a car, I'm stuck with it for now.

The second (red) is mine, which is in 150. Looks like the tool only picks up the first car in the garage. Any way this can be addressed? Thought you might want the challenge :-D

I knew this was going to happen, figured, there's no way anyone has two cars in their garage, right?

In theory I should be able to fix this. I don't have two cars in my garage though so might be hard to test. I'm pretty bogged down at work right now but will take a closer look when I get some free time. May need some info from you to make it work though.

Making progress. Here is what it looks like now. Both statuses show under the first car in the garage. Both statuses also show under the individual car tracking page.

You rock . Awesome extension! I'm working on a little customization. The Exterior/Interior color is real however the Options section is hard-coded (I actually have more options but just listed a few to demonstrate the concept)... learning how to parse a string however it might be too much for me in the end - might just settle with hard-coded options to simplify listing my build options when sharing screen shots.

I can see the options being stored in the sessionState but they are just codes:

Code:
0ZAX 0ZHK 0ZMT 0ZPK 0ZPX 0ZTM 01CB 01U0 02T4 02VB 02VC 02VF 0248 03MF 0302 0316 0319 0322 04AW 04MC 04NE 0430 0431 0453 0459 0488 0493 0494 05AC 05AL 05AP 05AS 05AV 05AZ 05DN 05DS 0534 0544 06AC 06AE 06AK 06C4 06DR 06NX 06U3 06VB 0645 0655 0688 07M9 0712 0760 0775 08EK 08KL 08R9 08SM 08TN 08WM 0823 0845 0853 0925 0992
Any idea how to get the names for those? If I had a full list of option names to code I could easily implement.

I only know the options list for my build however I have many of them

Anyone have an official list? Or we could just crowdsource...

Where did you get that list in the screenshot?

The pricing guide from this thread appears to have all the options ( only checked a few in my build ).

https://f30.bimmerpost.com/forums/sh....php?t=1927657

Definitely won't have time to pull these out by hand but if someone else wanted to I could definitely implement into the extension.

Ideally in a google sheet:

Column A: Option Code
Column B: Option Name
