i cant sleep

I am taking delivery of my manual m3 tomorrow morning.

This is my first M car and a childhood dream of mine for over 20 years since I was 6, and I am finally able to buy it.

How do I fall asleep tonight? Has anyone else experienced this?

If you are buying your dream car at 26, I would focus on humility and grace, as opposed to " I can't wait".
Many of us waited a bit longer to be able to have earned our dream cars.
Just a thought.
I hope you enjoy and appreciate your car as much as I do.

I am new grad doctor, paying for this myself after a decade of grinding. But yes I do realize how lucky I am and I am very grateful!

Congrats Allenssmart I went right to sleep the night before, because I told myself it was too good to be true, so, it didnt hit me until I saw it in person.

Dude, my only advice is ENJOY every minute of it! I bought my first new M3 in '01 and in my early 20's as a gift to myself at the start of my career. I enjoyed that car as I only could have being the age that I was.

20 years later with kids and a family - i've been fortunate enough to buy/enjoy whatever car I wanted, and the thrill of getting a new car is just 'meh' at this point. I've been buying something new every year or so, and honestly there is little thrill in it anymore.

Anyways, when I look back, the early 20s was the best time to be a car enthusiast!

Most important…enjoy the whole process! From the time you wake up to the time you drive away. Relish every step and reflect how hard you worked to get to this point. You deserve it.

I’ve done this 20+ times and it never gets old.

I got my F80 M3 dream car back when I was 23. And I remember that night picking it up from the dealer as a demo, my mind was frantically racing. Such good memories when I picked it up with my sister and dad and grinning so hard my cheeks were hurting.

I'm now 28, very well and truly financially stable for my age, got rid of numerous toxic and jealous "fake" friends, and just enjoying life. Everyday hustling and grinding non stop. My dream car now is a 992 GT3 once the second hand market settles down and I can pick one up for hopefully close to MSRP without the ridiculous 25% dealer mark ups!

Always set goals for yourself and take steps to achieve those goals. You will do just fine.

Congratulations! It's always hard to sleep when you're excited for something. My new car arrives in 6 sleeps and despite my age, I'm just so excited!

I don't think getting a new, special car ever gets old for a car enthusiast! Enjoy it!

My dream car was also an m3. I remember when the E36 m3 came out i made my dad take me to a local BMW dealer every weekend to look at them and in typical dad fashion he told me each and every time “if you work hard, you can buy one of these yourself”. At age 27 i bought a E90 m3 6 spd and was extremely proud of it and it’s only been m3 after m3 since.

Had a similar issue, but took the Christmas morning mentality with it - sooner I fall asleep sooner the morning comes! Same was true the 3-4 days prior… kept going to bed earlier and earlier….
