Wait what .... protuningfreaks state on their website (licence description) that you can remove the top speed limiter.
Lol i accidentally quoted the speed limiter one as well

Yes you can remove it and I have it off as well.

I was talking about them not having a CSL map yet.

Euro Performance Center is hand carrying DMEs to Finland. They even have a calendar on their website, of the trips they're making. The November trip is scheduled for 11/14.

What's the deal with the remote start fix? Is that something they were just now able to fix or do you have to pay extra for it?

It's an additional 100 dollars I believe

It makes it so remote start still works.

Apologies if this has been asked before but I assume you can buy a new ECU and have your ECU data cloned to it and unlocked by Femto?

If so, can anyone comment on if this would be the correct part?

https://www.getbmwparts.com/oem-part...w2LWdhcw%3D%3D

Seems to me like a safer route. Sure, you spend a 2K more for the re-assurance, but you seemingly could also pop the original back in to for service, etc, right?

I don't think this is the only computer which can be tracked or investigated. There are so many other control modules and accessible systems which can give it away (if BMW decides to dig) that IMO you're spending a lot of money for a false sense of security. If you tune and it breaks, you pay to play, no warranty.

That is correct. Not the only computer recording data in the car. Everyone always concerned about the warranty but then wants to tune the cars lol. If you want warranty leave it stock. Don't know why this always comes up every other thread. It is pretty simple lol

Realistically, I think I'd be most worried about updates (OTA or Dealership) overwriting or somehow affecting the tune.

Do we know if that's even a thing? And, if so, is it a simple as just re-flashing, or must we unlock again?

As fat as I know it must be unlocked again. It won't be the full price I would suggest, but still ...

This is why one always put a big Sticker in the car (when at dealership) "DO NOT UPDATE ANYTHING!!!"

Less then 2 weeks total for me on shipping and return (did it myself). Took me an extra day since I missed the international wire cut off. Almost worth it for the catless light off and exhaust open all the time in sport.

Thought it was funny on the first flash. Lots of time and money for a 7second flash!

91 octane is fun, E50 will be beast

So who's OTS map is this that you loaded? What are the options for someone who wants to flash it themselves after femto unlocks? BM3, MHD, others?

ECUTek is getting more and more popular.
Most f not all tuned GTRs are using ECUTek.

I personally went with MHD.
1. My tuner (pureboost) works with MHD
2. For ca. 500 USD you get the Super licence with 8 OTS maps included. (in my case a friend of mine is reseller and paid 450).

For the US market is BM3 more popular and I think is also cheaper, if you purchase it in the US.

One start with OTS map and very soon you are talking with some tuner for custom maps, where you can get the real potential, because the OTS maps are designed to work on different cars and are more conservative.

Ecutek I also believe you need a cloned ECU for that

Looks like they only have one date up, right now.

Hi, wonder if anyone needs tunable ECU for clone? I'm a supra owner and just found 2 that are from tunable S58s, VIN checked by Femto already:

5YMTS0C0XLLA57631
WBSUJ0103LLS68288

These 2 will work for AT M3/M4s, lemme know.

They’re specific in their shipping instructions, and will tell you to use DHL Express as a ‘Temporary Export’ only. I just sent mine out to them last Friday. It was delivered to them on Tuesday, and is currently on its way home right now. I would recommend doing as they say. No time stuck in customs and I don’t recall any duty fees etc

Not trying to thread jack just asking for a possible answer or for someone to tell me I am an idiot for trying this lol. Because if not I am just sending it to Femto

I have been working with BMW in my town and we have been talking about taking a virgin X3M ecu and mating it to my 22 M3. The only question is would mating it upload the new BTLDR software as this is not technically cloning my old ECU its mating it to my car. The Service Manager does not know the answer to that but doesn't want to contact tech support to ask them for obvious reasons haha.
