Definitely don't want to take this off every time. I don't. Not an issue unless you are trying to claim a blown motor under warranty. At that point BMWNA can tell via torque logs even if you remove the JB4.
This!! Just leave it on for basic dealer visits.

Install is super easy. Took me an hour but had a few beers in between. Not rocket science

Any tips for getting that TMAP sensor under the water pump? I pulled the tab and even with a decent amount of force pushing down it wouldn't come out. All of the other sensors were a cakewalk in comparison, I'm partially convinced this one is just defective.

It's hard to detach, I had to use a thin flat head screwdriver from the front side to lift the damn thing, it took me like 1 hour just to remove that stupid connector, everything else was easy and clean.

A long set of Pick Tools and a second set of hands pulling the assembly above it out of the way, would definitely help detach that connector. I think that folks with small hands or fine dexterity on their fingers will have less issues.

I was thinking of doing a clip on just how to get it done, but since it took me almost an hour, it would have been titled, "How Not to..."

Interesting range of opinions regarding this pesky connector.

Maybe I'll have a talk with the Service Manager and feel him out on it. Unlike my Stage 1 (that I could remove on the side of the road if I had to), this JB4 is a different animal.

Can you control the burbles with JB4? Any more noise from the car after installing or no?

Just as a reference, my BMW dealer was going to charge me $400. Which, if you decide to do it on your own, you'll see it is well justified

JB4 can't do anything with burbles. Might get some increased turbo noises due to extra boost. Probably more noticeable with an aftermarket intake.

To get more burbles, you have to flash ECU, it has to do with ignition timing or firing order (or something like that, not a mechanic lol), piggybacks (JB4, Race chip, etc) cannot do that.

the Jb4 does not control the burble sound.

I agree with you, I would not want more burbles on this car but that's the beauty of modding, we get to build our cars the way we want

This car has plenty of burbles in sport plus mode. Sometimes too much lol especially with a mid-pipe.

Does the JB4 still have issues in Sport Plus mode with respect to throttle closures? I heard there was going to be a firmware update to address that - does anyone know?
