They have never sounded good in relation to their cost. Is it cool? Yes. Does it save weight? Yes. Is it worth it? Most with common sense will say no, but everyone can spend their money any way they like.

The Akra hype started with E9x and rightfully so. The weight savings, looks, and power gains (for the S65) were awesome and hence why so many bought it. Akra only continued to raise their prices since then and as sickgtr mentioned f8x in general are hard to get a good sound out of. The E9x generation had many other options that sounded miles better and for a better cost. I personally had the OEM exhaust mod with test pipes. Akra doesn’t stand a chance against that combo. Call me poor or whatever but facts are facts.

So I have one, and I have to say that it sounds great as long as you keep the cats. If you go catless then it sounds raspy and tinny and I don't like it. You get a lot more depth when you keep the stock cats. Haven't tried HFC though.

I'm in this boat tbh, I had Akra on my R6 and it was nuts. Never actually heard it on a M car, but judging by the comments seems it might be overrated on the f80.

akrapovic has always sounded really good it's just too much for the posers who can barely afford the lease payment.
