Some will claim is as easy as apple pie, others like myself who have done it once will tell you is NOT easy to install. There is one connector at the bottom front right of the engine that is hard to reach, disconnect, and re-connect with the new RC connector. It will required lots of patience, otherwise you could break the intricate German designed connector. And if you pay to get it installed, that person can potentially also break it and leave it plugged in as is.

This alone makes you wanna just pay for the unlocking of the DME and call it good. But that's just my opinion.

JB4 will be just as hard to installed with the addition of the cable you have to run through the firewall and into your OBDII, that I hear is not hard to install.

JB4: ~$950 you can run some e85 and will record engine's telemetry!
RC: ~$850

A good thing with RaceChip, the harness comes with bypass plug where you can remove the module and use the bypass plug instead of removing the whole harness.

Also, Bluetooth chip is built-in and App is free.

I agree with you on the easy installation part. It is very subjective.

IMO, the safer way to run custom tune or E mix, would be a flashtune.
The factory DME processing speed is super fast and will be able to control many parameters in a split second.
Same as RaceChip, it has fast processing speed where the power delivery is very smooth.
