Put it on the X3M first, and I'll reprogram it once you get the G80.

Oh, that'd be great of you. Thank you. I won't tell the wife and see if she notices 100 more hp.

BTW - payment sent.

@Vic55 have you noticed any loss of traction from dig while using the maps? I'm getting in my own head about how perfect the car can put down it's power right now and I don't want to lose that.

Its gotta be more squirrely thats alot of power. Just need to drive the car with your feet more and your hands less. What im more curious to know is whether it messes with the trans/shift smoothness. Theres only 1 way to find out...drive the shit out if it and see🤷🏻

With more torque there is more wheel slip on a cold set of tires but as I think I mentioned earlier, the car still maintains that unique BMW rwd grip that was missing in the F8X.

With a properly warmed up set of tires the launches will be fine and I have no issues from a roll at all even on colder tires.

I was worried that the car would get into hooligan status but its just not there. These engineers got it right.

Just installed mine tonight. That boost sensor is a bitch if you have meat paws like me. Quite a noticeable power increase. Breaks loose more easily when I want it to like my F82 did. Anyway, I don't drag or track so there's my $0.02. I really enjoy it so it was worth the cost for me.

If it's like other boxes in the past there is not really much of a map... each step just adds like 0.3 psi of boost so 1 is whatever they do by default, and 7 is like 2psi higher than default...

Unfortunately, due to shortage on several parts in BMW factory, the delivery has been delayed without delivery date.

We know that you guys have been anxiously waiting for a simple plug-n-play and reliable tune for this new G8x M3/M4 platform with S58 motor.
Luckily, RaceChip Germany managed to find a local G82 M4 Competition owner whom openly willing to lend the car for product development.
After countless hour in testing and development which has gone smoothly, the G82 M4 Competition managed to gain good amount of hp and tq.

Word from RaceChip engineer “One of the best cars, I have ever driven”.
Could you elaborate what is the boost psi over the RPM range ?

Is this a fixed psi amount over the whole RPM range or are you able to progressively increase boost to prevent jerkiness?

I don't think that is a data that they giving out publicly.
I have asked before for other application.
What I can tell you, RaceChip boost increase is not fixed across all RPM.
If that is the case, it won't be as smooth as what their product is.
I have used and sold the other popular brand, that brand is quite jerky. Could be because of the mapping and/or the chip processing power.

I see so I guess it's similar to the Active-8 then where they increase boost progresively ... nice

like this

Yeah fixed tunes kick in at low rpm and they don't feel very good

Yea, but some do likes it because they "feel" the gain.

In the x3m racechip video they mentioned they wanted the S58 to feel faster but the power delivery to be smooth and progressive like an “NA” car (obviously impossible). This is evident in the dyno where the gains come in early and steady and build up to big hp gains up top. However, it looks like theres no latency introduced in the low-mid range which tells me the processor speed is really fast. The post install dragy accelerations from other M cars running racechips also look very linear (no dramatic changes in Gs or acceleration slope) and shifts seem unaffected and not slurred. More lag is something i had experienced on older piggy backs and didnt like, so i have done flashes on more recent cars... but if power delivery is linear over 3k rpm like they show on their dynos (and other customer dynos on the m5, x5m, x3m), it seems really nice because it shouldnt feel turbo laggy and elastic. Even though they put some pretty big snails in the m3 to have this much tuning potential with such a low compression ratio. Who has two thumbs and is ready for 600 pones? 👍🏻👍🏻

I've been riding on 600 ponies for 20 months.
One thing I can say, S58 drives smooth when warm.

You definitely feel it. Some of the roads that I used to drop the hammer on now feel uncomfortably short and narrow.
