I love it with both black and silver rims.
They look silver in the pics but in the video (remove before race) they are a light gold colour. I hope they are available in silver.

There are those that still hate it telling others to buy it in black to hide the grill or mockingly saying they would have to buy it in black to hide the grill. I seriously don't think they would buy it. Still just bitching.

Then there are those that really like it in the colour black.

I call BS on your premise! Why do you guys keep coming into threads on something you do not like? Time for the haters to stop trolling the new M3/M4 threads and move on to something you like!

Exactly, However, Yuppie and BMW have been synonymous since the 80s. The 3 series from the e21, e30. The e24 6 series. The 5 series from e28 to e34. The 7 series from e23 to e32. It was a yuppie-fest. It’s what made BMW, BMW. The chariot of choice of the brash, stylish, and young urban/upwardly mobile professional. So, BMW hasn’t really changed with this M3/M4 design. It’s just as brash as the e30 M3’s boy racer box fender flares and rear wing.

Funny thing is the 2014-2015 Lexus GS have the big spindle grill in the middle split like you have shown here. Pretty decent design.

In 2016 they removed the bar across the middle and went all predator grill. Always been a polarizing love it or hate it design.

I feel BMW has taken a lot of ideas from Lexus on these new versions for some reason.

Totally agree. My wife and I decided this weekend to give up on configuring the G80 and now going with a '21 M5 Competition LCI. in Marina Bay Blue/ Silverstone/black inserts/ on black wheels.

I'm sure the G80 will perform amazingly and be a great fit for many, just not us. We were back and forth with this love-hate G8x relationship and we thought we were able to embrace these changes, however we came to the same conclusion after every configuration to try to sway us (all Black, Frozen Dark Grey, Dravit, Brooklyn). the conclusion being G80 is just not a good fit for us.

You have a 911 4S so the sports car itch is certainly scratched. Are you in the immediate market for a car? I am just wondering, if you have been back and forth on the G80, why not wait until you see them in person in 4-5 months before making a final decision?

I gave up on BMW and got a 991.2. Timing worked out!

Great point on both.

Rationale: Actually we saw both the G82 M4 in SPY at Monticello M Track days private viewing and the G80 in IOM green the next day at UDE at Metlife (both dark rooms in close quarters) and were on the fence until we saw hi-def pics in black and frozen grey, etc.

The more videos and images we saw, in addition to the extra weight, minimal performance increases and cost made us come to the conclusion of downsizing to 2 great dailys to fit our lifestyles before we move to the new house in December.

We own the 911 4S (pleasure car) outright so will probably be trading it in on the '21 F90 comp. I therefore needed a car that would scratch both itches. (She has a '16 Merc C450 AMG (msport equivalent) sedan, and probably swap-a-lease the '18 X1. (M8 not a good fit and don't see the value). TMI.

Looks like a chick who has acne but covers it up with makeup. Don't forget the ugliness of the front blends within the color itself, BUT it's still only af.

Time to accept the change is real and time for the haters to be polite and move on to something you do like and let those of us that do like the change to enjoy these threads!

Wow that actually looks pretty good. I'm getting more and more used to the grill.

EDIT: It's actually the sizable front splitter and additional slats in the lower vents that helps balance out the size of the main grill. This actually looks really really good IMHO. Maybe the designers had this in mind overall and the bean counters said to make this the additional cost option.

If only I could get over the size and weight...

The performance mods are just downright distasteful IMO.

People can say that those of us who think the cosmetic updates are tacky, hate change etc etc - but there's a very defined difference between hating changes and not wanting a car as storied as the M3 to resemble a Japanese gimmick.

It's why when any one of us on this thread see a near stock e46 with comp rims, or an e92 with comp rims, we all stop and pause and give it a second look - they are timeless.

I just don't see that happening for this thing circa 2030.

10 year old...? What about the FK8 🤣
