Yes and no. OTS maps are inherently (or should be) built with a bit of headroom for safety. Custom tunes tend to be on the edge or just slightly dialed back from that, so if a more aggressive timing maps is used and gets you the same results, it’s not always a good thing. Why be more on the ragged edge and still get the same results. I don’t know what the logs looks like on this tune, but if it’s pulling more timing than an OTS and not making any more, it’s not making any more power because of all that pull. It’s not good thing to ride the safeties of an engine constantly… but I’m not saying that’s what’s happening here.

Before I used to swap between Citgo or Shell every now and then. Now I’ve changed to a new Meijer gas station built near me. I haven’t touched the ots map since switching to this new station.

Midwest supermarket chain. They have Top Tier detergent gas. Station is maybe a year or so old. My friend who runs E85 in his GT500 from this station has tested it at around the 80%~ mark consistently.

I figured it’s another part of the country. Just be aware that the whole “Top Tier” moniker is used very loosely in the gas industry to mean as you indicated, “detergent/cleaning agents and additives” in the gas they sell. It doesn’t mean shit in terms of octane quality or refinement. Also, the E85 pump having close to good quality in that gas doesn’t mean their 93 is good quality 93. Just be mindful of that. A new gas station, while having new and clean tanks, doesn’t mean they won’t get cheap gas to be able to recoup their buildout costs, etc. I’ve seen it happen and I’ve also seen old stations that have been there a while have better gas than new one, so it’s not always a good basis for judging expected gas quality.

Right. I was going off of what I’m seeing in terms of timing corrections. This station seems to have the “best” so far. -1.5 to -2.0 timing correction seems indicative of decent gas.
