Did the 11/2023.50 update neuter burbles

I have an Active Autowerke Equal Length Midpipe + Active Autowerke Valved Rear Axle-back paired with an Awron Valve Controller installed about 9 months ago. After the update about two weeks ago, I noticed the car became a lot more tame and I do not hear any burbles when I take my foot off the pedal. The exhaust note has become a lot more calm and timid.

Has anyone else noticed this? I’m taking my vehicle to European Autosource for a check up and I wanted to know if anyone else is facing the same issue?

Oh man I hope not. That's a large issue over the air updates pose.

I don't have the same problem, but then again, I have the updates disabled.

Let us know what they say

I’ve posted in another thread but I notice the burbles are quieter than they were before the upgrade.

My exhaust is stock I just have a valve controller and the burbles are pretty soft after the update. I’d prefer it to be what it was but since I don’t have much money invested in the exhaust I’ll get over it.

Guess that’s all I can do too. Hopefully the new update fixes this, but it’s a hard stretch.

I noticed the exact same after the same update, you are not alone.
Can we revert to an older software some how?

not likely unless you are unlocked or bmw decides to bring it back.

I updated mine and I didn’t notice any decrease in burbles.

My car is completely stock exhaust system wise. I updated from 7/2022 which the car was delivered with to 11/2023/50 a couple of weeks ago and the burbles though still there are noticeably softer in volume. The exhaust volume also seems to be a quieter. I wish now that I hadn't done it, but in this case what has been done cannot be un-done.

I am sure that this is part of BMW's attempt to comply with the EU's war on vehicular sound, and it will only get worse from here. I am going to disable any future OTA updates so the damn thing doesn't end up sounding like a Tesla.

It’s easy to reload the previous software on the DME using Esys.
Easily done as the BTLD file doesn’t change, so glad I got the burbles back to normal.

You want the below files for the DME

SWFK_00008A51_020_090_121
SWFL_00005C64_020_090_005

They are for an M4C xDrive

I have completed the update and notice no difference. Maybe this has already been discussed/determined but it must be new behavior/programming of the exhaust valves. Solution, valve controller. I have SST (and MAD midpipe). I leave mine wide open all of the time and like I said, I have not noticed a change with the update.
