Yellowstone and Jasper Summer 2023 Road Trips

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Over the past summer I took the G80 M3 on a couple of road trips. The first road trip was from Calgary down into Montana. We stayed a week in Bozeman and explored the surrounding area and made a couple of trips into Yellowstone National Park.

The second road trips was from Calgary, up the Icefields Parkway to Jasper. Several days in Jasper and then over the Yellowhead pass onto Kamloops. The return trip took us over the Rogers and Kicking Horse Passes back to Calgary.

Given how capable the G80 is in so many ways this car was an amazing car on the open road. The G80 ate up the steep ascents like the were not even there. The larger size of the G80 vs the F80 certainly increased the comfort on the long drives. I have the sport bucket seats which were very comfortable on the long drives. I know these seats are great as my wife loves them.

A few car washes were in order along the way to clean off the accumulated bugs but otherwise there were no issues.

What better way to enjoy some amazing scenery than in an amazing car. I have added a few pictures below of the G80 in action:

Loving this post, the view made me want to get straight up off my desk, go to the airport and fly straight out!

If there is anything you are looking for on the car please let me know.

I saw an AR M3 on the icefields parkway when I visited over the summer, could’ve very well been you haha. Made me wish I had my car instead of a rental on those beautiful roads

Cool! If you were there on August 3rd, 2023 then that would have been me. I drove the full length of the Icefields Parkway from Lake Louise to Jasper with three of my kids. The Icefields Parkway is always an amazing drive but to be able to do it in an M3 just add to the experience.

BigRedG80 You're very brave to trust car washes along the way. I wouldn't trust any car wash unless it was the touchless kind. If I were to do this trip I would only trust to wipe down the front windshield. But I know that probably wouldn't be very practical on a long trip like this. I have some minor OCD issues. LOL

I never take Big Red to the mechanical car wash. I was always use the wash bays, spray the car down with the wand and wash it by hand. I brough all my wash gear with me so I can properly clean the car. Big Red got washed down on each day of driving.

On one of the days in July I ended up driving through a cloud of locusts and the whole front end was covered in bug guts. Once we got to Bozeman I went to the car wash and got rid of all of them before they got baked on. It took about an hour with the wand but they were all gone and you would never know they were there.
