RK Autowerks Forged S58

BIMMERPOST
     Featured on BIMMERPOST.com
Hey guys,

Just wanted to share some updates with our shop car. We went ahead and built our engine to ensure we didn't have any failures.

Engine mod list is as follows.

-Sleeved block
-625 aged studs
-Fire rings
-Forged rods and pistons

We are building the top end as well but wanted to see how far the stock turbos could go. The cylinder head will be CNC'd, oversize valves, our custom cams, and full valvetrain. We're expected to have that done in the next month or two.

We've found stock turbos will get to about 34psi, results are below.

Complete mods list:
-Eventuri intakes
-RK port meth
-RK downpipes
-RK built engine
-Pure stage 3 transmission

Tuning provided by Utku Noa Performance
Stock: 448whp/445wtq
Stage 1: 511whp/523wtq - 93 octane
Stage 2: 566whp/581tq -93 octane
Stage 2.5: 682whp/628wtq -93 octane + meth
Stage 3: 696whp/666wtq -race gas + meth turbos maxed
Testing was all done on same day on an AWD mustang MD-1100SE

In the next few weeks we will be finishing our billet manifold, hybrid turbos, full frame twins, and single turbo upgrade

Heres a teaser of the twin setup and the single setup.

Thanks
-R

Very nice!

I actually believe these results; meaning not inflated. By chance, do you have a boost curve/plot.

Man, this is killer. I love some good ole engine pr0n!! This platform is amazing. This car is already running within half a second of a Plaid. The 1/8th on the plaid 6.0 @120. 5.44 60-130 is nuts.

What turbo do you plan on running for the single setup? Once femto takes US DMEs again I plan on going that route. Would love to hear how it sounds and see how the torque curve changes! Keep us updated.

1,000hp+, here we go!

Wow, you guys don't mess around. Great detailed information. Perfect for folks that are planning to upgrade the S58 but don't know about the different stages and options available.

As rashannon81 said, once Femto engages with U.S. market again, I'll be seriously thinking about going that route; my target is flexfuel/e85, w/ conservative tune that yields 650hp/650tq.

Why wouldn't you if you're targeting big power?

Airflow, block strength and reliability. I'm sure they're targeting well over 1K RWHP.

I plan on getting lighter seats, wheels, and few other bits.

i'd say 800 is pretty safe number.

all the data above minus draggy times are for the engine.

because we've found its necessary on the S63, so the S58 isn't going to be very far off.

Pricing will most likely start at the 12-14k window for a basic build.
