I read that quote as referring to the OG CSL. Would be amazing if 2800lbs were true but I don't think that's possible for a road legal car with this chassis. Maybe 33XX - 34XX lbs is the lowest? Hard to say, not many have fully stripped their G8Xs yet

The front gives me the vibes of an angry bull, heavily breathing with open nostrils. It is a decent attempt to match the gorgeous Hommage concept and it shouts for thinner headlights and dedicated new side mirrors.

A track monster that will never see a track event more than likely!

I think we need to remember at this price point and exclusivity there is a massive difference between being road legal in the US market and whether any actual US citizens were on the list to buy one and will be importing it as a show/demo car. At 1/50 these weren't gonna end up in the Starbucks drive through anyway.

Let's also remember the franchise dealer model in the US would mean a very small number of dealers hit the lottery to be a reseller to a chosen customer.

This kind of that BMW screwed all the G80/G82 manual buyers with the power and torque decrease.

I think bmw would manage the warranty math a bit different for a 750k hand built collector car and a mass produced vehicle…. They might not even have a warranty on these

But at this price, they should have just duplicated the concept car's body to the letter, and then modded the S58. It was a valiant effort, but still misses the wicked slickness and aggression of the concept. The concept doesn't look like a body kit. Oh well.

People actually think BMW would make anything remotely close to 1270kg these days??? C'mon man. The "lightweight" days are long gone.

I do enjoy reading about this car, but can't help but feel disappointed in the final result compared to the Hommage concept.

But hell, I can't afford one and never will be able to do I'll just enjoy my 1/18 scale version.

At that price point, they should’ve replicated the concept as much as possible.

Otherwise, a cool addition for big collectors

Other than the weight reduction. It’s not particularly impressive.

BMW needs to make a supercar. I’ll be the first to buy it

This is how BMW should've made the M grille aka kidneys in the FIRST PLACE when the G80 and G82 were introduced to the public.

Looks damn good!

That’s because the Toyota FT1 was designed before they decided to build the new Supra in partnership with BMW so then they had to morph the proportions to fit onto the Z4. Open the Supra’s door and look at its door frame and you really see how much they moved to try to keep it looking decent.

The proportions of this new 3.0 CSL vs the Homage concept are just sad. The concept had very sleek and unique proportions but this final product misses the mark especially in front. Would have been better if they never showed us the concept at all.

The concept is sleek and moves the original design forward.

Instead they give us some decals and a puffed up body kit on an M4. Doesn't matter how it drives if they're only making 50. At least they could produce something worth looking at.

I don't understand all of these homage cars. Everything is a 2002 or a 3.0 CSL throwback or pays homage to those cars.

Then BMW mentions a Motorsport heritage and blah, blah, blah. BMW is barely in motorsports today - no Formula E, F1 or anything outside of built factory cars. BMW barely registers as a Motorsport name nowadays.

IMO BMW should pay homage to the minivan because their best selling and most recognizable cars today are grocery getters.

I don't mean to be negative but I expected more. I get that the bulk if the $760k or so goes towards rarity and exclusivity... but I still expected more. This just doesn't feel special enough to warrant a price even half that amount.
