“Significantly more expensive”
At the time I’m sure Matt had no clue as to specific pricing so it was a spitball guess. Look at the visible part differences alone. Then there’s the parts you don’t see. All I’m saying is that volume helps lower the per piece cost and since only 50 units are being sold to the public, there is a huge reason why the costs are so high. I’m sure there is a hefty profit margin in these as well since someone had to sign off on this and large companies don’t typically sell product to lose money in general.

In all, it’s a bold decision for sure and I’m sure all 50 will be sold. Can’t wait for the first forum member to announce they have one and then put spacers, add springs, and complain that they have to roll down the windows manually… us old folk remember the days when you would motion to the girls in the next car over to roll down the window by making a circular arm gesture. hahaha

All that tacked on body cladding.

While the cladding is made of lightweight material, it still is added weight. And the weight difference between MT and 8AT is more in the 23kg range.

I believe the 3.0 CSL Hommage show car was built off the F8X chassis.

Looks good, but I wouldn't spend that kind of dough on it. Would much rather have a GT3 RS for that price, with money leftover.

Now take those grills and put them on the M3/M4 LCI rumored to be released in 2024.

These are the kind of design exercises that are going to pay off for consumers. Whatever they learned here will almost certainly go into a M3/M4 LCI.

I don't think those cars need one but if they ever got one....THIS IS IT!

No one knows what the pricing is yet. 750k is a BMWblog rumor that everyone has chosen to run with. They also said originally the M4 CSL would have a manual option, and the 3.0 CSL would have 600hp and 510lb-ft of torque. Until the price is confirmed, take it with a grain of salt.

BMWBlog also originally reviewed the M2 CS and said there was no difference between it an an M2C.

Good point, there is no mention of pricing in the press release. Maybe BMW decided to step back as they did with the technical specs and make this car a bit more accessible price wise.

The 1973 3.0 CSL looks so sexy!

If that new one is ~220K, a lot more reasonable.

I still suspect this car will NOT be 750k & all those fanboys making excuses for why it should be 750k will be shown to be talking out of their arses.
Let the back pedalling begin
I’m just in parrot mode. I saw $750k and am just justifying the high per unit cost, whatever it ends up being. Even at $250k (which would be even better) it still shows that there is a significant delta due to the low production output. That’s all I am justifying. This is not just an M4 parts bin special.

I’m going to go back pedal to the couch now sir

When I had a conversation with someone at BMW about this car they mentioned the price being Euro 750k / GBP £700k.

I found two M4 CSL's in Nor Cal I could buy if I want to pay $50K over MSRP. Roseville BMW and Fairfield BMW
I ordered an M4 Competition with carbon everything, saved $90K and got a back seat for the kids.

Do we know if it is tacked on or is it instead of the sheet metal?
I don't know, but I would have thought there is no sheet metal underneath...

Are they in stock? I checked both sites and didn’t see any listed. I’m about 15 mins from Roseville BMW
