squeaky brakes

I have about 300 miles on my G80 and the brakes are squeaky as hell when coming to a stop. quite embarrassing. is this something that will resolve as i get more miles or should i have them take a look at it?

Which brakes are on your car, standard M or CCB?

Mine are super squeaky as well. I've got standard breaks, about 2500 miles. Been squeaky from day one.

It's a little ironic that I now have the CCB's and they don't make any noise. I'm sure a good amount of effort was put into getting them quieted down to reduce complaints.

This BMW M video on Youtube explains performance brake "noises". Hope this helps somewhat.

Give it some hard stops. It's been posted that it may even be in the manual that you're supposed to do that to keep the brakes top notch. I do that and it clears my squeaking up for a while (standard brakes).

A bit of squeeking seems to be normal as mine also has it from time to time. It is most likely due to not enough use of the brakes. So i think it is normal.

7200mi on my standard brakes and they squeak sometimes as well. I was sure it couldn't be my car when I first started hearing it, but then figured out that it indeed was.

You all need to brake harder and clean the rotor/pads... quite common on higher performing systems.

AKA try to not drag the brakes and do a few high speed stops 60-20 going hard but not into a full abs stop. Repeat a few times and the issue will go away, but will return if your light on the brakes.

Thanks I'll try that. I've noticed they only squeak when I'm slowly coming to a stop

if your pads and rotors look fine with zero issues the dealerships won't touch them. Purely not applying enough brake pressure to keep them cleaned up. Drive it like you stole it once in a while and the issue will go away.

I know it's from a Corvette, but it still applies.

Or everyday I try to do at least one hard stop periodically to solve the issue since most of my driving now sadly is city

The tech is just going to drive it fast, do some hard braking, and give it back to you. Might as well skip the middleman.

I laugh when you shut the car off, and the cooling fan is running full blast. It's like the car is saying we just had fun.
