I have an F87 (amongst other toys) & love it, but having owned many other performance cars over the past 30 years I understand that there is always something better. Unlike many on here I don't feel the need to hang shit on anything better simply because I can't afford it or because I'm jealous or because I'm insecure or whatever other hang up people on here may suffer from. Fanboys (any brand) are the amateurs of the enthusiast car community, ALWAYS have been & ALWAYS will be. Actual performance car enthusiasts understand & appreciate performance cars regardless of what badge it wears. Unfortunately many on forums like this have little experience with other brand performance cars so have no objective point of reference, thus they simply spew forth the rhetoric they read related to whatever brand they own as gospel due to simple ignorance. Hell in just the last 12 months we've bought the wife an Audi Sport Q2 & sold her Jcw Mini, bought the daughter a Hyundai i30N, sold my Amg A45 & bought my Bmw M2, began restoring my MK1 Escort, competed in my Megane RS275R track car & sold my Clio RS200 tarmac rally car. My point is there is ALWAYS something better & that is something to appreciate & aspire to, not something to be disappointed & defensive about.

The glaring point you miss is that this is a BMW forum where fans of BMW congregate and chat. Yet somehow you're surprised as if you're new to the internet. Go to Clublexus you'll see RCF owners proclaiming not only that their car is better than an M4 but also that BMW's are garbage etc and this is not exclusive that site alone. At least here people are not crapping on Porsche. Instead we have posters who continuously crap on the new M3/M4 here and somehow gets agitated that we don't all share their disdain for this generation M3/M4.

Wow, are mods actually removing posts from this thread? LMFAO, WTF?
The last like 35 articles on bimmerpost have been about the damn M3/M4 (to the point that others have been starting threads on the other forums asking why they are doing this) and then they cry/bitch/remove random individual posts? Mods are some sensitive MF'ers on this site. Now I see why they got rid of the politics forum suddenly. Next they will be deleting all anti-BMW posts.....hell, they even removed the thread from the guy who took early delivery of his M3.

The E92 was amazing, then the F80, but this new gen is aimed a easily impressionable raceway fans, teens, and guys who drag race to show on instagram. Sadly the end of BMW M cars. Beginning of Lexus/Toyota styling over BMW. |

More than happy with this result. The ugly b4st4rd of a car needs to justify its pricetag somehow.
For me personally, I would choose looks over the uselessness of speed all day. Nobody will know it's a faster car unless you drive like a bellend all the time, but everyone will think it's an ugly b4st4rd each and everytime you are driving it. Especially when parked next to the Porsche. |

Go to sell the M3 in 3-5 years vs the Porsche... you'll be happy you bought a 911...

I’m actually delighted that BMW M have made such a great car, with the added weight I worried that the suspension would be brutally hard to compensate. Also great that the interior is now rated above Audi.
I still can’t handle the looks and will probably end up going the Porsche route, ideally a 991.2 C4S, from a OPC a 4 year car will cost the same as a new G8*, but buying from Porsche you at least get a 2 year warranty. So I understand the whole M car value for money.

Btw, C2 is a good car but not a great car. Test drove it many times and it is just ok. Have to get a C2s with sport package and that will set you back for another $15k. |

I am not sure the new-gen M4 is aiming for whatever you mentioned above. It is definitely a much better car than my F82. I truly feel people need to move on from E92. Time has progress and people need to stop looking back. Same as the Rennlist people who still think the air-cool 911 with the clothes seat is just more superior than the 992. |

So I'd like to share that IMHO the e92 M3 DCT ZCP + carbon roof + enhanced sound is the greatest all around car ever built. Period. People can like whatever they want and whose to say our opinion is wrong.

My theory is that folks get very attached to their first M car, and tend to look back favourably, and forward with trepidation.
I consider the M3 the halo car for BMW, so they can’t/ couldn’t afford to screw it up. You have to say, if the intention was create a divisive and dynamically super capable car, then BMW M have achieved their goal.
