Given that the 2er, and especially the M2, has become the "3er / M3 of old" and likely the last ICE-powered M car of this size, I am simply suggesting that this particular design might actually rise to that level.

Per BMW, the F22 M240x is around 3,721lbs. The F22 M240x gained around 100lbs over the M235x largely due to the extra weight of the B58. The G42 M240x is about 150lbs heavier than the outgoing F22 M240x. I would assume the G42 M240i RWD automatic will be around 150lbs more than the F22 M240i RWD automatic (3,600lbs per BMW). Still WAY heavier than my slick top M235 6MT with a 1/2 tank of fuel at 3,370lbs!
I'm fairly good with this design, but I sure hope that M240 buyers in the US have the option to get body-colored side sills. If that weren't an option, I'd have them painted and would install the 230i rear bumper. The punched out fenders are impressive. I have feeling that for the M2, the rear fenders will not be changed (save cost, the car is already quite wide) and that only the front fenders and bumper covers will be changed. I'm certain this car will look better in person. I don't see it aging well though as it's not very organic. I do agree with many in this thread that the F22 could be pretty bland. There are only certain colors I like and the F22 needs a bit of help with the exterior. Once done though, it can be a timeless looker. The F23 convertible is terrible looking.

time will tell and you might have a point there with the relation to the "oldschool Ms". But then again F80/F82 didn't and don't go up in value more than other cars in the current market even tho the new one's are "ugly" (i don't think they're too bad). Even tho there were 100s of "oh yeah thanks BMW my F8X will appreciate" posts. my car is one of the last non-hybrid V8 of "it's kind" it seems like, but i'm not expecting my value to go up especially if i drive the sh*t out of it 🤷🏻 |

Came here, saw the photo array, had a blah reaction. Interior looks great, but exterior...left me disinterested.
Just pulled up some YT vids showing it in motion and I think they're going to sell 10 million of them. It looks muscular in motion, the proportions are right, and it sounds great. Whatever I didn't see in photos, I definitely saw in the videos. And I even like the Thundernight Metallic color - looks amazing in both sunlight and shadows. Two thumbs up from this F87 owner, and look at that interior! The factories won't be able to churn them out fast enough. Edit - if its true that there’s no manual available at all that would be very disappointing. Last edited by Fear-Mongrel; 07-07-2021 at 04:47 PM.. |

I was bored, here's a modified version of the m240i.. Black accents, black wheels, tinted and lowered. Honestly I think this 2 series looks really good.

There are 4 19'' wheels, however once you pick the "M technic packet" which brings bigger calipers in front weels (amongst other cooling stuff i think), the available wheels is narrowed to just one.
Ironically seems that other of the 19'' wheels can work with those calipers, at least one. Since it's shown in the marketing material All 4 wheels are 19'', is it probably a mistake in the configurator? Saw it in german configurator and spanish one too. |

The new M2 should have a manual as an option. That's what I'm hoping at least!

Personally I like the front of the car but the rear reminds me too of an economy car of the 2000's Last edited by Jamongkad; 07-07-2021 at 08:50 PM.. |

How many of the base model F22s sold though? The majority of them sold down here were M-sport models. Most of the modern BMWs need the M-sport kit to look good, from bangle era onwards at least.

I'd be willing to bet this forum got heat from someone in BMW. I've never seen anything like that before. But if fits in today's society. |
