Interesting, didn't realize that. I think this is the first car I've gotten that doesn't have a jack. I think I'm missing at least the lug wrench, might need to reach out to the dealer about it. The manual talks about a "vehicle tool kit", but doesn't define what's in it, which is unhelpful

If you use your phone as a key it has to be in the charging pad (or the armrest thing in a manual).

Wallet is in my back pocket when I'm not in my car. But you shouldn't SIT on your wallet any more than you have to. It's a little thing that causes a lot of back problems long-term. You could carry TWO evenly filled wallets to even out your tail...but...

I've been following that rule for decades and now it feels just wrong to have the thing in my pocket when driving.

No jack, no lug wrench...
Might just be a 800 number sticker somewhere for BMW roadside assistance

Yea I hate sitting on it as well. That's why I'm a front pocket person. I've seen some patients with some crazy thick wallets and sciatica.

yea no ... the kick to open trunk feature is pure fantasy... tried on my car multiple times tonight, and it doesn't have carbon diffuser

that dude's video is a hot mess, im pretty sure it was more a shill to sell that overpriced m340 than an actual comparison "review" lol

now question time: can anyone help a noob here on good settings and EQ for the HK stereo? out of box it sounds pretty meh tbh, lacking in bass especially

Raise the bass and mid’s frequencies (up until about 500 hz) one by one until you get a sound you like. Incremental changes will make all the difference. You can also lower the high frequencies incrementally too and notice a huge difference in what you perceive...but, everyone is different so someone else’s recommendation might not suit your ear or taste in music.

The manual DOES have a charging pad. It is very small and my phone doesn't fit. If you need a larger charging pad, then you will have to purchase the attachment that fits in the armrest.

okay, so the charge pad does exist in front of the shifter, it's just much smaller than the automatic, so you need to use the larger one in the glove box. got it. thanks.

Does anyone know if you can set the HUD to dim automatically at night? I have the 6MT and love the M mode HUD with the tach. Brightness during the day is great, but at night it's too bright. Couldn't figure out if it can automatically dim at night, rather than having to manually do it

I know most people are still breaking in their cars, and this is going to completely vary on your driving style and environment, but what kind of MPG and mileage are you seeing.

As I said, not super scientific, but just curious. For example, it seems like most F97/98 owners are seeing mid to high teens MPG if you're lucky. Is that around what you're seeing on M3/4 too? What about average range?

Don't have the car, but Joe Achilles said in his 600 mile review of the G82 that he is getting 26 British mpg (21.65 US mpg), which seems pretty impressive compared to the shit mpg we get in our X4MC.

He said "you can achieve 40mpg all day long" on the motorway as it sits at 1500rpm in top gear. I doubt any new owners are seeing that while enjoying it, we'll have to wait a few more weeks to get some real examples.

i will try to pay attention tonight when i go out. as far as i rmb no you have to change the brightness manually either via the dimmer switch or idrive menu... funny enough the ambient lighting does have an auto "dim at night" checkbox

Yeah I'm surprised that's not integrated into the HUD. I can automatically dim the random cabin lights when it gets dark but not the thing that is literally in your field of vision. Seems backwards

Manual drivers, do you see shift lights? ( I'm guessing not many are shifting near red line yet)

How about a suggested arrow for optimal gear consumption?

There are yellow graphics in the cluster and the HUD (in M-Mode display) as the RPM's rise for shift "lights". I don't know if they go red when you get near redline (being good with the break-in miles).

I haven't noticed any arrows.

In all videos I have seen so far, the launch control uses the 2nd gear.. Is this the case?? doesn't this affect the car's times from 0-xxx?

My car did not come with Sirius installed. When I open up my media choices, it's not even there to choose from. Anyone else have this issue? I'm bringing it to the dealer tomorrow to see if they can fix it.

Also, with my 18 M4, I could split the screen between nav and my media. I cant for the life of me figure out how to do that with this car.

You have to do this through the widget menu.
