When looking at the online configurator, it description also mentions buttons but the guy in the diagram has his leg going the car. That combined with that youtube video makes it confusing what is true.
My M3C with exec does not have it, unless it's just not activated or something.

Rewatch the video seconds before he had the key in his hand then his hands in his coat where he pressed the button (which he may have pressed cause he couldn’t figure out how to kick it open but thought it came with).

Or this is a feature in another country. Either way I have an M4C without this option. No where in the configurator did it say it came with it.

I'm not able to get that to work for some reason. Is anyone having the same issue? My dealer said the M3 and M4 don't have that option due to the rear splitter but this video shows otherwise at 9:20.

I ended up asking the person who made the youtube video and he confirmed that he opened the trunk with his leg and the reason the video was cropped when he did it was because it took him a couple of tries.

thank you. Is the speedometer accurate is it optimistic by few MPH compared to GPS?
I'm interested in hearing the answer as well. All three BMWs I've owned have been 76 on GPS when speedo says 80

Carbon Buckets

Did anyone here option the carbon bucket seats? If so, can you determine whether they were designed for use with a 5 or 6 point harnesses?

It's nice to be able to program it off for the occasional times that you are driving with it off, around a parking lot for instance. Even for people that always use their seatbelt it can get annoying.

I watched a video yesterday and saw some with an updated key FOB. I had no idea that you could get one. Has anyone else gotten it? It had a digital screen to it.

I just triple checked my manual and I have the exec package. Only two ways of opening with the key or the button.

There simply is no possibility to open it with the feet.
The guy in video talks trash...
comfort access as option gives you only the possibility to open the door with your hand.

*edit*
see attached pic.
It's in german sorry it's from the swiss brochure, but it only states you can open it electrically with the Key or by pressing the BUTTON.

Also the comfort access only inclused accessing the car via door there is nothing mentioned about the trunk.

p.s. the guy in the video seems anyway confused af. see the comparsion video with the M340i, it's like the worst review of a car ever.

No, but I did get a credit card sized thing that supposedly you can use instead of the key for full functionality.

My dealer didn't mention anything like that all. Just to be clear, you mean the key cards like Tesla has? Did you just ask the dealer for one? Is there any extra charge?

BMW Display Key. Not that big of a deal IMHO. Have one on my X7 and keep it in the house and just use the regular key.

The BMW credit card key is slick. Have used that plenty of times when ocean swimming and nice being able to keep that zippered in my pocket and not having to worry about the physical key getting wet.

On the current topic - how are people finding using their iPhone to open and start the car (can you do that?). And have you been able to share the key with your partner to their phone?

I don’t know if it’s only me, but the app sometimes take a second to load the history before it allows you to run a new action. Which is a bit disappointing... also there’s a dumb disclaimer every time you start the engine, which I wish you could somehow bypass. Other than that the ‘talk’ time is pretty quick once you physically tell it what to do. I have not be able to share key yet.

Nope, didn't even know it was a thing. My sales guy was showing me the car and had to set it up. I don't believe there was a charge for it.

Check your manual it might just be in the pouch.

I did get the Key Card. You place it in the Phone Charging section. Pretty cool.

USA M3

1. Does an iPhone 12 Pro Max fit in the phone holder? (With or without a case - I use a wrap)

2. Do the rear seats have heating. If yes what pack(s) do you have?

3. Are the roof rack holes the same as a standard 3 series in regards to being able to use those roof racks?

4. How is the auto parking and lane keep features - any auto driving type functionality basically (ordering these mostly for my wife so want to make sure they work well)

Thanks!

FYI.The manual transmission wireless charging pad is smaller than with the automatic. I can't fit my Note 20 in the manual charging pad with or without the thin case that I have.

I find it works great. If you set up the phone as a key, you can also use your watch to unlock the doors so you don't have to hold the phone to the door handle. I haven't shared the key with anyone, so can't speak to that. In the M3 competition, the tray easily holds a phone in the case and charges it. Mine loads quickly and the car starts without hesitation.
