I chose the right time to move to the X3MC. Will sit this generation of 3 series out for the first time this century...

I agree the F8X's turn signal placement looks better... but I wonder what they will do with the North American requirement for the Turn signal not to be "washed out"by a bright light beside it? That is why the main beams on present cars turn off beside the indicator when actuated. This doesn't seem to be happening in this photo.
Will the main beam turn off and leave a halo turn signal flashing?

I saw an X2 this morning and it looks like when the turn signal is on, on that same side the DRL's dim.

I actually think they look really good. The M4 especially because the F82 just never looked proportional in my eyes. But this G82 looks much better from the rear. True it doesn't really have the classic BMW look. Actually looks a lot more like the Infiniti Q60, but thats a good thing because that is a sexy car.

If the main beam does turn off, I'm sure the coders can take care of this, just like how they can code the NA market cars for the anti-dazzle high beam.

It's a bird! It's a plane! It's a......Wait, what....what is that? Can't tell if pig nose or beaver teeth.

I do like how they've incorporated the turn signals into the angel eyes though. I think I would have liked it more if both turned into the signal though. It looks kind of odd with one blinking and one just on.

I’m on the fence. I’ve been looking to move up to M8 Competition, but I am almost thinking of holding off until the G80/G82 makes their official debut.

I love it, it was time for a change, the only reason I won't get one is because I already have the M2C.

There is zero chance the competition model with come with a different grille. That doesn't make any sense at all. Even hoping for an LCI refresh is probably futile. BMW wants to try a new direction, bottom line. BMW also doesn't like "refreshing" their M cars. If they did that frequently, that would disincentive people from buying early model cars. Usually the refreshes just involve tail lights and some minor interior bits that match the 3/4 series refreshes. The front fascia will likely stay like this until the next gen.

True, but for the E46 it was the sound, aspects of the design, weight (...it was labeled a "pig" more times than I care to remember), chassis stiffness (...and claims that it was too stiff to daily drive), among other things.

Funny how some just dismisses complaints

One of the main complaints about the F8X, was sound and twin turbo.

Having owned 2 E92 M3's, i do miss the instant throttle response of the S65 and exhaust note.
It was special.

People now are complaining about how this car looks, yeah it'll be less attractive than the car it replaces for sure.
