I had the complete opposite experience, and was lied to by him repeatedly and they damaged my car and made me wait a year for replacement parts.
Do you mind sharing the gist of what happened? Not looking to throw shade on anyone or any shop, or cast doubt on what sounds like a really undesirable experience for you. But given that we are sharing Bay Area recommendations it might be helpful to know about negative experiences as well as positive. Thanks and hope things worked out for you in the (very) long run!

I go to speed element and have been going there since 2008 with my past cars. I'm extremely picky on who touches my car and am loyal to a shop if they are good at what they do. They work on a lot of imports including bmw Porsche and Audi. I know one of their owners from mutual friends so I'm a bit biased. However they are known to be really thorough and know what they're doing. They are also known in the industry quite well. Anyways I had my suspension done their recently without issues.

Anyone have experience with these shops that can remove both resonators (keeping secondary cat in tact on the mid pipe)? I know muffler shops can do it but, prefer a BMW specialty shop to do it.

Honestly, you're probably better off having a muffler shop do it. This is their bread and butter, and they will likely charge you less for the job too. There's nothing BMW-specific about resonators. They're just metal pipes. If you insist, I'm sure PT and other shops mentioned here would be happy to charge you a premium for the job.

I’ll just use BP to shoot out posts about events. That way I can catch everyone.

I honestly can't fathom how he's constantly recommended, myself and 2-3 friends cannot get service from him. I thought it was just me, so I recommended two other people to him and it was the exact same thing. He's always an asshole on the phone or has this pompous attitude where he acts like we're offending him to request a service that we would like to pay for. Literally call him for a service that I see him performing on another car on his IG and he says he doesn't do that or that we should go to another shop? Like what?

I've been working on cars, modifying them and working with performance shops for 25 years now and I can say, without reservation that Silicon Valley Bimmer is the gold standard when it comes to:
1. Knowing their stuff
2. Being honest
3. Being timely
4. Customer service

Ask for Riccardo or his business partner Dennis. You will not be disappointed.

Concur with Nhatco. SV Bimmer in Santa Clara did great work for me. KW HAS and 12mm Future Classic spacers. Also, used OC Detailing in Fremont for PPF and coating. Both, highly recommend.
