Some pictures of the Fashion Gray M3 with Fiona, Rob was talking about. There are better pictures, but I'll leave AC to post pictures with their own watermark on them. Fashion Gray (Modegrau P6H) is a little darker than Chalk. And, of course you keep it. Ask anyone on here that has a true individual Color. All of the ones I've seen, have significantly longer wait times. Like 6 months.

Thanks! Sorry I wasn't clear - I meant the 50th Anniversary badging. Should I go with the special badges or tell them to put the classic blue and white ones on the car. No way I'm cancelling the order!

I think the 50th badging would definitely add a little color pop. Plus to have the actual special badge designation on the order sheet, would be nice. I'm jealous. I have a 2022, but I ordered my car in July of 21, and took delivery in November of 21, so, I don't get the badging, even though my car is a 50th anniversary model year.

My car moved to scheduled for production status today. A little doubtful that it will actually be produced Week 14 in light of the rumored/announced plant shutdowns resulting from the war in Ukraine, but we shall see, I suppose.

Super exciting! Happy for you and look forward to seeing that around town. My M4 was the dreaded week 11, which seems to be most affected by the recent shutdown. As best I can tell, week 11s were thrown to the back of the line and most others have stayed the course. No use fretting about it, lots of folks have it much worse these days.

My car was in "Exterior Body Assembly Begins" (Status 151) for just a day. This morning, I moved to "In the Paint Booth" (Status 152).

The Dev Tool view of My BMW shows that my "prodDate" is 2022-05-02. There's been debate in these forums about whether that date refers to the start or completion date of a build -- clearly it can't refer to the start. I also find it VERY hard to believe that my car won't finish production until early May, given where it currently is in the process. Anyone have thoughts?

Well... I went a little nuts and asked my CA to add some M Performance carbon pieces to my build -- specifically the front splitter, side skirts, and rear winglets. You only live once, right?

For those who may not know, these items can be added to your build up until the vehicle hits the destination port, because the parts are installed at the vehicle processing centers, regardless of when they are ordered. Thanks to calbears for educating me.

Nice color choice!! I love the carbon add-ons.

You mentioned that you were going to add a PPF. I am around Denver as well and I am looking for shops doing that.

Any recommendations? Thanks.

Yes! I am very particular, so I spent quite a bit of time doing my research and talking to folks. Based on reputation, I narrowed down the list to Denver Auto Shield and New Image Paint Protection. Both shops do great work -- I spoke to people I know personally who had their cars fully wrapped using these shops and they had nothing but good things to say about the quality of the jobs. I don't think you can go wrong with either outfit.

I'm going to work with New Image because they install STEK. Most shops (including Denver Auto Shield) use XPEL. I prefer STEK to XPEL because STEK is more hydrophobic. I have also heard that the STEK products have slightly better self-healing properties. XPEL is slightly thicker, so some people prefer it for that reason.

I don't have anything negative to say about the folks at Denver Auto Shield, but I can tell you that the people at New Image are really good at what they do. They are also super cool. I casually mentioned that I was considering getting my car in Chalk when I was having an initial conversation with them. They emailed me out of the blue a week later to let me know they were PPF'ing a Chalk Porsche and invited me down to their shop to see the color in person. That anecdote pretty well captures their attention to detail and level of customer service.

Such an answer.
Thanks a lot!!
I still have months before I get the M4, but I will definitely look at these guys.
$3,000 budget makes sense?

Unfortunately, the going rate at one of these premium shops in Denver right now is $7,000 to 8,000 for a full PPF wrap, depending on the car. If you just want a partial (like bumper, hood, front side panels and side skirts), you're probably looking at between $3,000 and $4,000.

So maybe I'm the wrong person to ask!
I had just came out of a nardo grey m4c and the wheels were bi colour, loved them but fancied a change. I did consider chalk but coming out of nardo it was time to change it up a bit.
I hope you are enjoying our product, let me know if there is anything I can help with at all!

Can't wait to see this one. It's going to be amazing once you get some good pictures of it. Front page, for sure.

Any idea how long this takes?
My car is supposed to arrive at port next week, so I added the front splitter and the side grills, does it delay shipment to the dealer like a week or two?

They should install them at the port, if what's being said is true. If you have a stop sale, it'll be there for a while, anyway. Mine was stop saled for 8 days.

Mine took about 3 weeks from starting production to QC. I spent a few days in the paint booth. When I reached out to BMW genius the gave me when my car was supposed to be finished and it went into qc the day they predicted. I've been stuck in QC now for almost 4 weeks
