Lane departure warning?
Featured on BIMMERPOST.com As far as I can see, I have lane departure off. Any clue why I keep seeing this pop up?

The icon illuminates green: at lane marking was detected on at least one side of the vehicle and warnings can be issued. So, it just means the car senses the lanes and you CAN activate this feature if you want.

Dont the Gs have a button below the headlight knob to turn off lane departure, Like the Fs did?

You might be able to code the speed in which it activates. Had this on my G30 and now on the G80. It's there to just let you know 'it's active'. To stop it from popping up, hit the green circle on your dash, and change your lane departure settings. |

Thats definitely lane departure. I drove it off the lot, after I took delivery, and onto the highway. I immediately pulled off the highway into a parking lot until I could figure out how to turn it off. I don't remember the settings to turn it off, though.

The orange or green circle on your dash goes right to those settings. You setup the individual section for it to be how you want.

Thanks for the heads up. I was in there, earlier. I also figured out how to completely turn off gesture control. I hate reaching for my drink, and muting the stereo.

100% I knew it was kind of a gimmick, when I first tried it, but then it started getting annoying, OFF, all OFF.

I had to turn this off also. When i picked the car up i was driving normally in the lane and it kept turning the wheel to the right. I thought a wheel was falling off. Scared the hell out of me. Not sure why it's malfunctioning like that. Does it use the camera on the windshield? I had the car back from PPF when it did this and the sensors on the bumpers are covered. Maybe that?

Mine is a manual. When I was shifting from 2nd to 3rd, it change the SiriusXM channel on me. When I got home, I immediately turned it off. I haven't missed it since. Gesture control is a joke. |

I think from what I was told when I got my X3 was that when you change the lane departure warning off, it automatically resets to on when you turn ur car off. I dont know if thats the case with the G80. I know we have the m1 and M2 buttons and wondering if there is a way to turn this off in that setting which might make it permanent (like the auto start/stop)

Been discussing it in another thread. The 'most hated' feature on my 3 week old M4Cx.
If on, it can be configured as a warning (steering wheel vibration and/or LEDs) and as a control ("intervention"; you have to fight the steering wheel). I have it set now as a warning and have unchecked the box for intervention. In safety features you have to select Individual rather than All for that to work (All means All; Vee are German and we know what is best for you ...). That causes the "halo" button (next to the red triangle blinkers button) to turn orange rather than green as a warning that some safety features are disabled. In my other thread discussion a poster has indicated otherwise but I have yet to figure it out (maybe I have other options off that are triggering the warning).
