e46 m3 - most visceral and most interesting engine sound
F80 DCT - quick - boring compared to 6MT
F80 6MT - best overall package for daily fun, track + dad duties
M6 GC CP - soooo fast

may be getting a new M3 CS (BSM with gold/bronze wheels and stanard brakes) so i'm back on the forum after a pretty long break! it would be replacing my GT4 which has been primarily a track car but i don't get to use it as often as i'd like.

Nothing too exciting but fell in love with the E46 M3 when i was a teenager and bought a mint example in 2011 and have babied it ever since. E46 M3s now come in two flavours, mint well cared for examples like mine and modded/beat to shit examples. I'll probably never sell mine.

Almost bought a nice used F80 M3 last year but the backseat was too small to justify it for the fam. Decided to wait for the G80 and have no regrets. Another car I'll probably hold onto forever.

The M3 is the only BMW that has ever really interested me. Glad I am in a position to have picked up a new one before they go electric.

Cars I personally owned, E30… long wait to 340i, then short wait to m3. 340i was fun for a bit, but I wanted more.

There were many other bmw experiences along the way.

Not an M progression, but a 3-series progression.

2000 E46 323i 5MT
2011 E90 335d 6AT (no MT available )
2023 G80 M3 6MT currently at the port

I'm way too financially conservative to run through the long lists of cars like some of you, but it is fun to spectate!
