I hope these images are not accurate - I’m all for change but this is hideous - design is way too busy and cluttered - who approves this crap.

Will be ordering the new X6M as soon as it gets released. I had one for winter here in WI and I love it.... great Family car
So I will wait to see for final product on this M3

I hear you, we all need to see it in person or real pics. I am already wavering on the brand since a manual was promised and is now in jeopardy.

I am just a little surprised the design deviated so much from the usual formula of taking a 3series and adding bits and pieces to make it more aggressive, in the end we always got a great looking M3, that has stood the test of time.

A couple weeks back I drove by the dealer after work and looked at various G20’s and thought the M3 would be a great looking car by simply looking at the G20’s and imagining M-bits on the car. It was a great recipe, IMO. Subtle, yet aggressive.

Look how BUSY the rear is between the two. We have Lexus and Honda together, made a baby and came up with this. Simply a whole lot goin on in the back as well.
I could live with this rear end styling, they hid the exhaust and seemed to design for less drag, the front is the part of the car that I am not sure would ever grow on me, but we need to see it in person to decide.

I'll probably end up selling my X5M for something less premium that I can beat up and not have to worry about my door cards being scratched but an Ⓜ️ car will always be in my stable for sure... I'm just confused as to which one lol.

This G80 M reveal needs to take place like yesterday.
Depends on the type vehicles you want/need, garage space, budget, etc....

It takes a mix of cars for me to replace the M3. (Seats 5)
Focus RS was fine by me, but my wife thought it was a little cramped.

The new Wrangler (6MT) mixed with a 911 is about perfect, IYAM.
4Runner, new Bronco in 7MT, Golf R is great, all depends on needs and the above criteria, I like a manual so those cars will get my attention, also cars that can go off-road (purpose-built) paired with a great drivers car.

Funny - just got a Wrangler Rubicon Unlimited for my wife and looking at either M3 or 992 for me... great mix. I'm just not sure if I really want to climb in and out of a 911 every day ... I'm 6'3" so a lot of travel lol. I'm sure it would work but the M3 is probably even better. I think if I didn't want a car that I can track I'd seriously consider the GLC63 as a replacement for the M3 because of that glorious sounding motor and suv/hatch/wagon appeal for laying seats flat and piling tons of stuff in.

Maybe these wild renders are a way of setting our expectations super low, if it looks good then we will all buy one immediately lol.

.

The 911 is low, but you get used to it fast, in two days, you learn how to use your arms, the door, seat and steering wheel and pop right up.
991.2 is how to strike a deal....

The M3 is a better all-rounder.....

How much lower is a 911 than say an M2?

The M2 is my idea of a budget 911 (not a bad thing)... 2 door, manual, small but useable back seat, nice interior (compared to American brands), plenty power, RWD, and the M2 would be a great choice for me but man ... it just seems so old looking at the interior!! I had 2 F80s and it would be like taking a big step backwards in that regard to me :-/ kind of a sad barrier and more of a personal problem.

Yeah with my budget I wouldn't be able to get a larger vehicle to complement the 911 right away and I feel like I could regret the limited kid space.... alternatively, I could just get suck it up and get used to it. Still an option. Need to wait around for a manual first tho or even a Carrera T variant which unfortunately is probably a ways out.

And funny you say the 991.2 is the way to get a deal ... there's a Carrera T nearby that I would LOVE. Trying to hold out another 8 months though so I'm sure the 991.2s will be long gone ...

AND I wonder what the HP/TQ will be. Like always they will bump it a bit but how much closer to 500HP? If it's close then people will start to live with the "uniqueness" of this face lift. Unfortunately my wife LOVES IT!!! Oh no. Bye-bye 550xi, hello Predator M3. She even loved our 09 550i in Carbon Black. Best 5 ever she said.

Things I'm looking for in the new G80 M3 if not CS it is.
Me too but, the front really bothers me

I would have a hard time spending over 70K that I don't like.

I had F80 and it was a looker, really enjoyable to see
Trust I understand 100%.. for now I'm just going to fall back and wait. I currently have a few CS's I've been looking at for some time and even the Quadrifoglio is starting to catch my eye again but I don't see myself leaving bimmer.

I'll pick up the latest M6GC Comp before I leave 😎🔥

It's interesting you guys are so loyal to BMW as mine loyalty is ending. My wife and I including various other family members have had 13+ BMWs over the last 15 years and my time with them could be done in the next few years.

In that time they have:

1)Ruined Euro Delivery with various cuts to the program pricing making it way less desirable to go to the Welt. Think brand loyalty
2)Messed around with their maintenance program (removing brakes etc etc...) which used to differentiate BMW from the other makes
3)STOPPED making driver focused vehicles and began catering to the grandma and grandpa Lexus crowd. See F30
4)The final nail in the "coffin"(grill) is removing 6MT and DCT from their sporty offerings while adding AWD and more weight. See Audi

The ///M4 ZCP that I am picking up Friday could very well be my last BMW. Sad.

That 550i is gorgeous, I do miss Bangle's uniqueness. In my opinion he really differentiated each model and broke the "same sausage different length" model that most german automakers used at the time.

Wow! This gives me hope, it would look much better with that piece in body color. This is why people need to "wait" and get more renders, that one piece with a three pedal offering might be my next car.

You are correct on European Delivery, why cut that program, it was a program leader and is rarely mentioned as a negative....When I picked up my M3 it was a 7% discount. I have said BMW should offer the 7% discount to those who have also purchased and X vehicle.

I haul three kids and 2 bikes in a 911 on occasion, but it is tight, fun, but not ideal.

991.2 T in manual may hold more value than other 991.2's.
The car is pretty light compared to 992's. If you like a PDK, I would suggest going with a another model or wait to test a 992.

PM me....

The seating position in a Porsche is much lower, it feels more like a go-kart in feel, the car is not significantly lower, but seating position, butt to pavement is much lower.

I can't see myself buying this ugly shit box.
On top of that, it has an oh-so-common 3.0L turbo engine which ruins it for me. I love the brand and splurged for a used E92 M3 last year but will never touch a new M car. Too many let downs to get over...

BMW get it together while you can.

All valid points. Considering ordering an F82 myself then possibly calling it quits, at least for awhile. I'm a semi loyal guy, just not to the extent of some others, call it "blind faith"
