Line on the Speedometer

Might be a dumb question but has anyone experienced having this red line on their speedometer before? Have 4k miles on the car and this is the first time I’m seeing this.

Wow that puts my mind at ease. If that’s the case, this was on a closed course with a professional being the wheel😂

I’m still in my G42 and awaiting an allocation for the G80. I have also noticed this and my thought was the transmission/cpu is predicting your next shift (8AT) in adaptive mode with guesstimating the amount of throttle that you prefer to give. If I am right, then I’ll be surprised, just based off my experience and trying to entertain myself for my 530a drives to work in the city.

At that point I was actually going speed limit, car just hadn’t updated it to the proper zone I guess.
