These cars are supposed to come with some sort of credit card style key, too, right?

All I got with my base M3 is the 2 regular keys.

SA is looking into it.

They were in my glove compartment.. tucked on the left side.

Do you have a base? My suspicion is that base doesn't come with it

Is your car a manual transmission or auto? It only comes with auto transmission as far as I know. And you also need to have the Comfort Access option specified.

That's the reason then. It's a manual and I don't have that option. Thanks!

In the US the base model comes standard with comfort access.

Definitely have the dealer investigate and confirm.

The base does come with comfort access, but not with the card key when I checked with the dealer.

The car will automatically unlock and lock your doors when you're in a certain proximity of the vehicle, but it's tied to your key FOB.
