That said, I'm an M car enthusiast not a used car salesman. This detracts from the overall community IMO if we are all just front-running each other to get the cars at MSRP and resell at a markup. See what happened with graphics cards in the PC enthusiast market.
My current tentative plan.."NO" This is my first G82 M4 B'klyn Grey Comp, and I love driving the car on weekends in Southern California.

If I paid it off right now, all in at about 97.5k.
The lease drove it up 4K.
If I would've paid cash, I would've paid about 93K.

I was thinking of maybe selling it with a takeover lease payments option, but not sure how/if that works.

I'm thinking, as time passes, the value will probably increase maybe I will drive it a little less as well.

I don't know how the real world numbers would work out, but KBB says my 84k car is now worth 92.7k trade in 97.5k private party and that's without including any extra I'd get for the individual color

Individual color won't add anything. You'd have to find the person that absolutely HAS to have that color, but it never works out that way. However, the dealer will advertise it as such in an attempt to capitalize on it.

I wouldn’t put much value in those numbers. My low spec 21 G80 Comp with 9k miles is KBB estimated at 95k.

If someone was offering that much, I wouldn’t hesitate too much to sell to get back in line for 2023 G80.

Yeah I agree. I love the car but, I too was thinking about getting a G80 XDrive to replace it.
Maybe I should get in line now for a 2023. The used car market is strong so, hopefully my car holds some good value for a trade.

My car is in that ballpark of price as well per kbb and I am planning on selling it to swap for an M8 but I am curious what real world numbers will be when I try and get someone to buy it

I'm trading in my X3m that I leased ($0 down) back in May, with about $9k in positive equity. Acquired a g80 build that fell through with original buyer and should be in by eoy after trying for months to get an allocation for a build. Rolling the equity into the g80 (at msrp) is like getting a little over 10% off sticker, and the lease on the m3 is less per month.

Leased my G80 base spec m3 msrp 75k. Got my dealer to buy back for 83k. Net 12k after 4 payments and 3k miles

Ordered another m3 2022 with Fiona red this time. I'm ok with the wait tbh

I would do that if my dealership offered me a similar deal.

I would do that if my dealership offered me a similar deal.

Also, if get back in line for a build, my CA would call me if any other deal/delivery fell through and a car was available.

But, I would most likely wait for a build spot so, I can spec the car the way I like it.

But then again, as long as the trade values stay strong, maybe I would pick up a deal that fell through on a G80 Comp XDrive. And then trade it when my build car arrives.

The car market is not like the house market. You can buy about any new car you want from a dealer for MSRP or less…..but a used car that’s 1 year old or less will often bring over MSRP. I sold my 3 year old 911 for about $14,000 more than I paid for it. Then bought a 2022 M3 xDrive for $1,000 under MSRP then sold it 2 months later for $7,500 more than I paid for it. I am now in the process of buying a 2022 M850i Gran Coupe for $5,000 under MSRP and it is scheduled to be at the dealer tomorrow for me to pick it up on Friday. Now is the wrong time though to be buying a used car since it’s a sellers market. So yes, you can make money on cars now. Buy at MSRP or less and sell for more. All of my stuff literally sold in 24 hours after listing. BTW….the M850 will be a keeper for my wife!

Adding all of the packages my car has, as well as CCBs, which I also have, added absolutely nothing to the value.

Wow!! that's awesome!!

I know the 911 market is crazy. It seems like most of the used (2015-2021) 911's are selling for more than a brand new 2022.
The allocation line for a new 911 is long, maybe year out or so. And, it's been that way for a while now.

Yes! Very tempting.

The M4Cx is a "toy car" for me. And having dealt with the withdrawal of not having a fast car for 2 years after selling my GTR, I know I can handle the sellers regret symptom.

I already have a beater that I use as a daily (2012 Subaru Impreza Hatch).

I also got the wife a GLA45AMG that it is FUUUUN... to drive; DCT + 7gears + 4Cyl. Turbo @ 375hp + 3457lbs. curb weight + Hatch body + AWD + LC capable = Perfect All Around Car (for me).

I'm a car guy, and I'm happy just driving any car and working on any car as well. The fact that life has blessed me with allowing me to afford a GTR and later an almost fully loaded M4Cx is just cherry on top.

But yes, I'm thinking about it.

I just got a quote from BMW Seattle for $72,000. Not very good. Vroom offered $75,000 and still not good enough. I mean, there are M2C and F8x cars selling for 65-70k with 20,000+ miles on them.

I just submitted my order today for the new G82C XDrive and dealer said I should get an allocation pretty soon (within 30 days) since they don't have anyone else in front of me.

We'll see what happens when the new car arrives. I have to sell it for at least 10k over dealer offer to recoup the sales tax and even more to make a "profit".

Cool!!

So, you just walked in, handed them your order, and no one is on a waiting list.

That's nice!

Did you have to do anything other than that?

•$$ deposit?
• Credit app?

I'm just asking because, from reading some of these threads, it seems a lot of people are doing those two things.

I didn't do either one when I ordered my car.

Yes, nobody else on the waiting list so hoping to get an allocation soon.

They required a fully refundable $1000 deposit to place the order and nothing else. Financing and everything else related can be done within 30 days of the car arriving and taking delivery.
