M4 is crazy fast in the video, smoking king of drag GTR in the 1/4!

ABT rs5 was funny. Didn't see much difference with regular one. Now run that against a tuned m4

Nice video non the less

Wonder how 4 banger light weight merc will compare

That's what I was asking…
This…. And also Not sure if it would make sense for bmw to have rwd mode and m drive with all the traction options if it didn't help ??? Idk

As far as bang for buck, the C8 vette can straight line beat M3Cx right?

It's close. I just ran 2 runs from a dig against one tonight in my 22 M3 Comp xDrive. I took 1 he took another. Should've gone again but he had car issues.

He lives around me and I'll record the next time I come across him. M3 was faster off the line both times but he pulled off just last min on the second run.

He would win hands down every time from a roll though. No doubt. M3Cx is like 500 lbs? heavier.

Great result from a dig for the M4 BT Edition. I do not like the GTR but it has proven to be a great benchmark for a long time. Good on Nissan and BMW seems to be making great ground with the 4WD M. Cool comparison IMO.

Is your C8 buddy modded? You should be owning him from a dig. With how badly this Comp walks the C8 on a roll in this video it’s really surprising to hear you think he’ll take you on a roll. Haven’t seen anywhere that the Comp is significantly faster than the Comp xDrive, so I would expect similar results from the xDrive on a roll.

XDrive is heavier than RWD so it isn't as good on a roll but is a beast off the line due to being able to put the power down at least that was my logic. He's not modded but I'll definitely get some runs in on a roll next time. Very curious to see how it goes, thanks for sharing!

I laughed when he started the roll race in manual and clicked over to auto. What the hell is that all about? Pick one.

Also, it's not apples to apples. 4" pipes will definitely free up top end. So, over 580hp and 520lb ft still got handled by the XDrive Comp.

XDrive only adds 50 lbs over the RWD comp…it should be a negligible difference - definitely not enough to make up how badly the M4 walks the C8 in the edmunds roll race video. Not sure how long your “runs” are, but if it’s a 1/4 mile, the xdrive’s jump off the line will more than make up for that slight weight difference. Good luck and be safe!!!

It's 50kg, 110lb is a lot of tacos, plus AWD has more rotating mass and more drivetrain loss. So no, it is not negligible.

They hired a driver to make Gtr look slow lol. The driver doesn't know how to launch properly and you can see heavy smoke from rear tire which mean he didn't even put in launch setting. I owned a 2018 gtr and raced my friend new m4 xdrive many times and let's just say I smoked it every time 😌

Not sure why people think one is faster than the other? They are basically the same car now. Close in weight, AWD? From what I e seen and read, they are pretty much the same qtr mile stock vs stock? Finally, 10 years later a M 3/4 can hang. 😋 I will on roll race my F-82. Traction is just not there from a dig. Plus, roll racing is where it's at now.

This is why I waited so long to finally get an M. I wanted the V8, and the F80 and neither car was impressive enough for me to buy one. This is when I knew I had to have one.

It's actually the family name of a German company (so is written Abt) that's been in business for quite some time and specialises in running Audi/VAG in motorsports and also more recently tuning road cars. They ran/run Audis in the German DTM series and also have a team in the Formula E championship

Didn’t they have an Abt racecar in Gran Turismo 3 or 4? It sounds vaguely familiar.

Edit: Yup. https://gran-turismo.fandom.com/wiki...ring_Car_%2702
