I disagree with that comment. I've seen plenty of E85 hellcats hit 9s with that trap speed. I hit 9s and I trapped 140.5 with by fbo e85 Hellcat. My 60-130 was 5.76. A little faster than this. But now I'm so excited to get this seeing the tuning has already unlock so much so soon. I think this definitely has a high 4s 60-130 potential. I can't wait to go Hellcat hunting when I get this.

Key word is "almost" I think he knows it isn't a 9 second trap but what both him and I was implying is that the vehicle is right in the 9 second trap Territory.

Also i second what charger HC was saying I too have seen plenty of cars close to the same weight as this chassis come close to or hit 9's with a similar trap speed but of course weight, prep and weather play a major factor.

I haven't got my car yet so I might be wrong. Canadian orders take ages to come.

My understand is that LC still works with the 1st gear but it will take longer to 60. Manually starting LC with 2nd gear will optimize the acceleration.

I got the idea where your point is coming from. They didn't say shifting to the second gear but then the car was in its second gear by the time of launch. Yeah… Super confusing.

Lc automatically changes to second gear when you hold brake and floor the accelerator. If it doesn't switch then LC isn't active because a condition is not met.

BMW's official video on using LC definitely does not mention having to select 2nd gear yourself
If LC engages and you are in first it puts the car into second, but since we are not engaging launch control you have to put it into second manually

Guess we will find out. Let's hope BMW overbuilt the G80...

137 is RIGHT on the edge for a 9-second pass. If you can really rip off a low 60 ft think 1.4 or better. This is 9-second car all day, but so far this thing is showing itself very hard to launch hard. We will see as things progress, but so far are happy. We will develop on this car, and when our AWD comes in, we will put it back to stock, trade it on the AWD, and see what the AWD can do with the same parts

XDrive is going to be a straight up monster. You will dip into the 9s for sure.

An M3 AWD with just a tune will be in the 10s easy.

I would think that a prepped drag strip surface along with full slicks and launching in 2nd wouldn't have THAT much problem launching well. This platform definitely puts the power down better than the F8x, at least stock.
I assume you were break boosting since you didn't use LC.

Great to see Vargas coming out with something early here, I’m a big fan of the company offering great value products. Ran their turbo on my B58, so will watch to see production dates and cost.

Some context for everyone re times, there’s a few of us X3m guys running 100% stock hardware, so no DP’s - only regapped plugs and E70, achieving 10.5 at 130mph.

This is a car which weighs 450lbs more than the RWD G80 M3.

The huge difference between our cars and this is the 60-130mph though, we’re hitting a best of 7.55 there, compared to low 6’s for the Vargas car here. That’s night and day, and does suggest these big turbos make a significant difference.

Nice work. I don't want to disparage anything but with 700 rwhp it should be in the 9s.

If you can launch it, 100%. If the car is fighting you to get 1.77 60 ft times, you end up with mid 10's and a high trap. Drag racing is ALL in the launch

Correct! You guys should put a drag pack on it that might get the job done before a tune even comes out…

Game changer if it can run 9's on JB4
