With a good launch absolutely should do 10's stock turbos, at around 129-130MPH. Seems to be the downfall of the platform currently. With that trap speed 137MPH, that's a 9-second pass all day on a car that can even put down a decent launch think 1.5 or better. 1.77 best 60 ft is just embarrassing.

We do it like this. Turn on M2, confirm M2 which drops the car in whatever settings you have. Its all Sport+ for us. Then hold traction control to full kill it, as when you set M2 it just goes into MDM. Once you do that, get to where you want to launch. Make sure the car is in SECOND gear, not first. Now, this is the important part, Hold the brakes down as hard as you can, and SLOWLY lean into the throttle, it will start to come up on the converter and build boost. When you feel you have made the most boost usually around 2300-2500, release the brake, and go. The LC will not engage if you do not have the pedal fully down with the brake on.

GOTCHA!

I'll test it out and let you know! Thanks for the advice.

FYI you can set any of your M buttons to remove MDM completely vs having to remove it manually.

When I push my M2 button twice, its DSC Off, S3, and ready for LC.

Saves you a step.

Congrats on the times.

Interesting that some people report having to switch to 2nd gear manually in order to engage LC and other as well as the manual leave it in 1st gear and LC auto changes to 2nd gear. :

BMW's official video on using LC definitely does not mention having to select 2nd gear yourself

Congrats..

For some strange reason I can't help but to think once an actual tune is available this platform can do these numbers on stock turbos. a friend of mine did 11.5 @ 120mph bone stock.

That 137mph is definitely 9 second trap territory so I can't wait to see what happens when you guys get it dialed in.

That trap speed is almost good for 9s! AWD with a real tune should be 9s for sure. Crazy to get 800whp on stock turbos. This will dethron the M5 as the fastest BMW for 1/4 mile. Should see some low 2 second 0-60 times as well.

Where exactly did you see 800WHP on stock turbos?

How long are the stock axles/ driveline going to last, with this power, on a prepped surface? Asking for a friend.

Going 0 to 60 in two seconds would hurt.

Don't agree with the trap speed comment, MY RS3 did 10.45@135 fbo stock turbo E85 that was AWD on slicks. I don't think there was any way to get 9's with that trap speed. I think 140's is more realistic for 9's.

No they didn't. Or maybe you misunderstood what I was saying.

They left it in manual 1st gear and the LC program switched it to 2nd gear automatically.

Some people are saying that you have to put it in manual 2nd gear yourself, which is contradictory to what this video shows as well as the owners manual

This is not on stock turbos. These are upgraded turbos!

I haven't got my car yet so I might be wrong. Canadian orders take ages to come.

My understand is that LC still works with the 1st gear but it will take longer to 60. Manually starting LC with 2nd gear will optimize the acceleration.

I got the idea where your point is coming from. They didn't say shifting to the second gear but then the car was in its second gear by the time of launch. Yeah… Super confusing.

I disagree with that comment. I’ve seen plenty of E85 hellcats hit 9s with that trap speed. I hit 9s and I trapped 140.5 with by fbo e85 Hellcat. My 60-130 was 5.76. A little faster than this. But now I’m so excited to get this seeing the tuning has already unlock so much so soon. I think this definitely has a high 4s 60-130 potential. I can’t wait to go Hellcat hunting when I get this.
