That was the case with Audi and the Bosch Mg1 when I had the S5. Go into the dealer, if there was an update required, it would override the tune.

Surprised the software doesn't calculate like a checksum to work out if it has been modified or not.

No unfortunately not. 03/19-09/19(?) had an ECU different from the rest of the S55 cars for whatever reason.

Why BMW? I'd assume Bosch is the one in hot water for making such a bold claim. I don't understand why BMW is worried about the ECU for autonomous driving? They can easily prove the ECU was modified using checksums..

Anyways, what does this mean for other cars like the X3M and other engines like the S63? Exciting times..

Seriously, my only question is WHY anyone would think the G80/82 needs more power?

It already gets you from zero to jail time quicker than you can go from throttle to brake application.

I am not being flippant when I state I would be more interested in a tune that attenuated power than one that added power.
