I guess my luck finally ran out. Got a ticket at 2AM in the morning for no front plate in my driveway lol…So what are you guys using to mount? I seriously don't want to drill.

There's a long thread somewhere about this. Your best choices are the Carbonio if you want easy on/off center mount, or the Rho Plate tow hook mount. I've run both and I'm happier with the Rho Plate despite the lack of symmetry.

I’ve screwed mine between the narrow horizontal trim and when the plate is removed you can’t even tell it’s been screwed.

I used thick rubber washers and trimmed them to match the shape of the grill so the plate sits level.

What state is this? I didn't know they can ticket you on private property.

I stick a Sto n Sho on when I park in NYC. Takes a few seconds. I won't drill and those tow hook mounts look worse than the center front plate to me.

Edit. I see you are in Westchester. Same as me. That's crazy. Was in fully in your driveway completely on private property?

How the hell do you get a no plate ticket while on your private property?

Yeah unless you were parked on the street I'm pretty sure that's illegal. But you know i'm sure there is some bullshit law they can use to skirt around it. Fuckin cops

Agreed. I did a little more research and police can issue parking tickets in NY on private property when the owner of the property gives permission but it still think it doesn't apply to plates. My guess is part of the vehicle was on public property.

US plates look much worse centered on the nose :-)

I doubt anyone would be giving permission to ticket their own car on their own property, especially at 2am. That scenario sounds more like for those areas where a shopping center may be private property but they have given consent for the police to hand out tickets to cars parked there, etc.

I would agree, something doesn't add up and part of the car had to have been on public property at the time of the ticket.

I am in a very affluent part of NY. Problem is I live right next to the precinct and I fear that the cop that gave me the ticket will keep doing that nonsense. My car was completely in my driveway but the front was facing the street. Who the hell gives a ticket for no front plate at 2AM though? I am going to contest this ticket and get it dismissed. But I did order the tow hook and uglify my car a little..

Since 2 plates are required in NY. What's to stop them from ticketing me as soon as I pull out my property? Like I said they are always patrolling and due to my location being right next to the precinct…should I keep fighting these ticket or bite the bullet?

Huh! What does an affluent area have to do with a plate ticket. I live in Westchester too. No one bothers me about the plate in my driveway or on the road. Call the chief of police or mayor.

You think it's all luck though? My father has an F82 with no front plate and lives in the bronx and never got a ticket since he got it in 2016 but it's an area where the cops have bigger fish to fry. My area the worse call they get is about people playing loud music. FYI I am in Larchmont.

I went this way and wasn’t prompt with proving that I took care of the compliance. There was no way to just pay. They sent my court summons to an old address and it didn’t get forwarded.

Wound up spending a day in jail. Doh. The price of working ridiculous forced overtime and not tending to life.

I think you got a rookie cop or one that's trying to mess with you. My wife got pulled over in our town a few years ago and go a tint ticket from a rookie cop. Judge laughed when she went to town court and dismissed it without any issues.

That's a fix-it ticket in NY… put the plate on (in any way… zip ties), take a pic and stop in to court to show it was fixed and they'll drop it.

It shows $50 fine and if not paid within a certain time it become $100. At the end of the day I can't bother running to court over and over. Thank you guys for suggestions.

In your own driveway?? That's wild and I heard you cannot be ticketed on private property! I'd fight this. I just got the carbonio front plate. Easy to put on and take off. Looks oem too! Here's a quick pic from last night. Need to take some in the day light lol

Looks awesome. I think I am going to replace the grill with an aftermarket one so the tow hook make sense for me. The judge for the town is a family member..lol.
