That GTR is over 20+ years old with out dated technology and you marveling at that. Outdated technology versus modern technology it’s a simple equation. Newer represents advancements which leads to enhancement by way of victory for the modern vehicles.

Let’s perform the same test with the latest GT-R and let’s see the outcome.
Well the 750hp is quite noteworthy plus AWD. Then add a professional race car drive on top of it all. It's surprising all considered.

Lol at those comments where people are happy the newest M3 nearly lost to a 1999 6MT GTR

The GTR had a proper driver at the wheel not your average YouTube show off

Still pretty impressive for a 20 year old car

It's the power delivery. Mustangs are lower down on power band and BMW is mid to high, GTR, well depends on the turbo, heat soak and intercoolers. The launch on the BMW is now incredible compared to the F80.

Mustang is a mustang and always be a mustang hence the results for the mustang.

GTR - it is incredible, that is one car I want to own.

This was NOT a equal race. Both Mustang and Skyline were tuned and M3 Comp was standard. Really!!

Carwow isn't for enthusiasts
LOL. YEAH, it seems like 80% of their races are on wet pavement.

Cut us some slack, it is the UK, it's wet about 90% of the time 😉

These Carwow drag races are more entertainment than they are any kind of serious analysis. That said still interesting to get a picture of how the G8x bears up to this kind of tuned car competition.

G80 M3 is a fantastic car no doubt but this video is useless. Those two tuned car cannot even been driven correctly. Both have much better power to weight ratio so have to smoke M3. That GTR obviously has engine issue and that mustang cant put the power down…

Well they had a pro racing driver in the GTR that had multiple attempts and the G80 could only beat what's put in front of it. I think the bottom line is you'll have to be driving something pretty serious AND be on your 'A game' to beat the BMW.

If it was an Xdrive then they wouldn't see which way it went…

Lol. But in fairness that was a old model with "just" 750hp.
There is always an excuse with these highly tuned cars

They're broken half the time or have a leak boost or have traction issues or some other nonesense
Bimmer won. No excuse. When you are going from a dead stop, anyone can win. Doesn't always play out how people think. I wish I had an R34!!! On your comment about always broke or boost leak? If you are driving some hack job you and uncle Joey put together, ok. For the R35 gang. 1000-1200 is pretty reliable. I have never had an issue with mine. I'm a bit overbuilt for my power but wanted the peace of mind. All I have done is change the oil and replace fuel filter. It's been such a solid car. Sean Ivey is the king in my book🤪 Again, Spun my hub on the F82 at 12,000 miles. Have a 1000 wheel on my junk Nissan and never had an issue. Bell housing was fixed under warranty at dealer. That's it in 10 years. Pretty solid in my book. All cars are going break. Just have to fix them better or build it better before it breaks.
Sean is still tuning? He tuned a few of my evos I had back in the day 💨💨

I would assume. Been a few years that I have been there. He was the only person I let touch my car. Dude is a wizard when it comes to tuning.

This is why I do not heavily modify my cars anymore. There is ALWAYS something wrong with it. Max i'll do now is a light tune, exhaust for better sound if needed, and better traction mods.

Nissan is in huge financial trouble and Infiniti is about to die anytime now

Carlos the man responsible for the GTR is no longer present… Every talented individual who worked for him has quit

I doubt very much that car will ever come to market the only thing they will do is milk it for another couple years
Sad, but true. As a huge Nissan fan, I'm very disappointed.
