I've been checking out the videos, and following the progress on Archie Hamilton's car. Looking good.

Interesting timing! I emailed you a few days ago asking about your pre-prep ducktail spoiler. Wanting to know how closely the color, finish etc. match BMW M Performance CF. I know you say the weave is the same, but do you have pics of your CF next to BMW MP so we can compare tint, etc?
Thanks! Ash |

Second day of ownership! We build our OPF back valved exhaust in collaboration with local workshop Deutschtech.
EU spec cars have OPF filters mid exhaust to meet emission laws. The OPF exhaust system removed rear resonator and valved on the outside pipes allowing a straight flow when valves are open and through back box when valves closed. Sounds okay but needs some more.. so we are working on solutions to remove the OPF filters and secondary cats. If removed car will go into limp mode -_- OPF Filters Hand fabricated exhaust with carbon tips Walk around of our current build at the time, the end showcases the exhaust (excuse my outfit 😅 was a long day and very early start to get out to the mountains in the UK) https://www.instagram.com/tv/CM2ek5Y...dium=copy_link Last edited by R44_Rhys; 08-08-2021 at 11:37 AM.. |

Yeah the others up top showed. Just not that one.
My biggest concern is/was that the spoilers are not made in the UK like the splitter is, so I’m hoping the weave and more importantly the TINT matches OEM and lasts as long. |

4 days into ownership we started 3D scanning.
Started by scanning all lower areas of the car including the Bootlid. Due to complexities of the new G8X lower bumpers with the gloss black parts we removed them all to do full part scanning. This helps with clip locations and design. Also scanned the panels without the gloss parts fitted. Using the 3D data we can create CAD models to start making 1/1 part designs ready for prototyping and finally mould patterns. We have already been working on Deisgn renders for a few months before delivery to provide a guide into the part designs we would like to go ahead with. Design renders not to scale 3D scanning Last edited by R44_Rhys; 08-08-2021 at 12:10 PM.. |

Does this mean you will make Cf parts that directly replace the standard black parts as exact matches? Like the rockers, rear lower edge pieces, etc.

We now racked up our 1200 miles in around 6 days of ownership. So the car went into our local BMW dealer for its Running in Service.
In and out in a couple hours. Onto our friends at Stjarnagloss for a deep clean and content for both of our websites! The products are amazing. Started to really fall in love with the G80 now 😅 Some detailing porn captured by our in-house camera king Dylan. Last edited by R44_Rhys; 08-08-2021 at 12:39 PM.. |

Absolutely love what you guys are doing! Couldn’t be happier with my G80 CS spoiler, and super stoked to see those front air vents!

Next up on the build was paint protection film before track testing.
The car had only been out for a week or so. Thankfully Xpel were quick to the mark to bring out their Rev1 pre cut PPF templates. Made the process ALOT easier than hand cutting each panel. Was torn between Gloss front end PPF or a full car Matte PPF. After laying a square of Matte on I realised I was enjoying the High Gloss Brooklyn paint too much to hide it. (Knowing the car would also be wrapped in a couple months) Company here in the UK called GVE Detailing carried out the work. Would highly recommend! Great service and kindly Ceramic coated the interior, exterior and wheels! Last edited by R44_Rhys; 08-08-2021 at 12:59 PM.. |

Time for my first Track day! Something I was dying to do since taking delivery.
We went to Bedford Autodrome in the UK, quite a flat track but a good mixture of straights and corners. The M3 was flawless, took it steady for the first couple of laps to get use to the car. Very easy to drive the car and has some serious capabilities. Through out the day I upped the speed and was able keep up with high spec F series build. Fitted with the likes of Ohlins, camber plates etc. So can’t complain. Didn’t push to hard so we can break the car in safely. I wanted to run the car in stock form bar some aero parts to understand the stock set up. Car was fully stock with P zero’s 19/20. By far the best M car I’ve driven out the box on track, with some suspension changes think it’ll be a step up straight away. Time to drop the car down. |

R44 team didn’t waste any time with some suspension changes.. time to drop the car!
About 2/3 weeks into ownership we wanted to make our own springs. Dial in our own ride height and stiffness. With talks with suspension companies such as H&R we knew the drops they’ll be offering will be around 30mm front and 10-15 rear on the M3 platform and more on the M4. So we had a development spring to work from. After fitting a few options we found the Rev1 set up. 35mm Front 35mm Rear. Next we’ll visit more track sessions / carry out road testing. We have now tested a fair few springs and have our final springs being bench tested in coming weeks. R44 LOW Springs will drop around mid/late September Check the video we made when dropping the car : https://youtu.be/I_-34rM0xJA |
