Featured on BIMMERPOST.com It's unsafe and annoying. Most of the time it's a beat up 3 series but today it was an older modified m5. I've had other sports cars in my past and never experienced this. |

LOL dude. I had the SAME exact experience today. With BOTH cars. The first was an older 3 series, maybe 08 or 09 body style? It was a 4 door in a laguna blue shade of blue. Or maybe it was that color. But i noticed the dude flying through traffic just to get next to me and pace me for a solid 20 seconds, before he took off. Although really slow lol. Then 20 minutes later i merge on another freeway and i won't lie i was booking it a bit just because it was clear but from way back way back of the freeway i noticed headlights starting to close in fast. I guess he saw me make a spirited merge and maybe wanted to play. Once we caught up to traffic, i was in the left lane where it was more free flowing but he got caught with some traffic in the middle/right lane. I wasn't even trying to race but he kept zig zagging through traffic, then he'd wait for me up ahead. I get closer, still in the left lane, then he wants to book it again, flying through traffic to build a lead. He did this about 2 more times before he finally took his exit. And i was just minding my own biz in the left lane lol. I would have spanked that car anyway but it did look nice. And sounded good. It was a dropped black M5. Idk the year. It was a V8 though but not the new ones, maybe the previous gens? Sorry i don't know too much bmw stuff. The M3 is the first bmw. Either way, even before today, i always see bmw drivers act crazy. And the stereotype is true. They really never use turn signals lol. I won't be like that though. |

Nah i'm far north, in rutherford. The one i saw was a dropped black M5. I had to look it up online but it definitely was like a 2015 body style. It was dropped, all black, even the tail lights, and sounded great. |

I found Audi drivers to be 2x worse than fellow bmw drivers tbh. Most of the BMW folks have their phones out taking video or whatever, but it seems like all of a sudden every A4 with tinted windows appears out of nowhere and wants to race.

If you see a Nissan Altima with tinted windows.... it's trouble for all the wrong reasons...

If you want to know how driving-challenged people here are, the right lanes are usually always clear to pass people. Everyone's 'going fast' together, singing kumbaya in the passing lane. You'd see people join in on an on-ramp on the right and change lanes in quick succession, get into the passing lane, then go the speed limit or sometimes lower, and proceed to block people. Yeah. Things I wish were drilled into everyone's heads when they were handed their license: Are you in the passing lane? If yes, are you actively passing someone? If no, get out of the passing lane. If no, and you're blocking someone faster than you, especially then get out of the passing lane. You say you're doing the speed limit so why should you move? Because 1. go read what the law says (RCW 46.61.100), and 2. you may be one of 'those people' who think the speed limit is 35 when it's in fact actually 55, and you want to "enforce" the speed-limit like a know-it-all do-gooder, when you're really an ignorant public nuisance. And again, it's the passing lane. Not the fast lane. Not the 'left' lane (even though that's technically true, it's not what it's called). If you're sitting in the passing lane with no one ahead of you and someone (or a bunch of cars) passed you on the right, you should be ashamed of yourself. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Passing_lane Driving on the autobahn in Germany, where people get out of the passing lane quickly, was a revelation in that an entire population could be free of imbeciles. Oh... did I tell you I have a nit to pick with passing lane campers?

I was going to ask what the question was, until I remembered the thread title. There are various levels of BMW ownership infamy. Somewhere near the top is this:

I think this is mostly pre-conceived notions and confirmation bias. When I'm on the highway, even when I was in my F82, I noticed way more huge pickups or janky Honda's, Nissan's, etc. than I ever did BMWs or proper sports cars riding up on me. Even when I was going 80 MPH+. So I got out of the way.
Quite frankly I think it's more often a matter of whoever is in the #1 / passing lane not yielding to whoever is coming up going faster, than it is someone riding the bumper for no reason. If you're in that lane and you notice a lot of Bimmers or other cars riding your bumper, you're the problem, not them. |

There are lot of idiots driving and honestly when I'm in my M2C I'm so engaged that I don't even care. I've seen Tesla's tease me to race with them and other junk cars but I just ignore.
But you are right, there are lot of dimwits out there and not all are BMW drivers.

Model 3s, GTIs, Golf Rs, Altimas, Chargers (esp. ones where they opted for blingy rims vs. springing for the V8), S2000s, Audi S4s, C63 AMGs, Mustangs… the list of those who wanna dice (and most of the time, recklessly) goes on and on and on…
And yes, the BMW-on-BMW shenanigans are the worst… |
