This is why the GTI will always be near and dear to me.
This is the exact range of emotion the car creates. Like the M3; GTI created the hot hatch segment. Still miss my MK7 Performance Pack 6 speed GTI VW like BMW lost its way with the MK8. That's how I ended up pulling the trigger on the F80 |

Pennzoil FTW. Shifting sequences are a bit weird though. Most people would just use the paddles with a DCT. The M5 is good too.

Worst commercial I have ever seen, like this is worse than the KIA commercial of the driver jumping the car and saying it's twin turbo or some crap.
This girl is clearly on heroin and the M ...MOTORSPORT is non existence here...anymore. : |

Kinda douchey ... and I think a disconnect exists between market segmentation and targeting strategy too.
Not sure how much % of the global mid-20s and mid-30s population will and can just roll out a $80k + coupe. Whether it's all financing or 100% cash. Not too mention allocation, wait list, etc etc. ... will they hold out because they want it that bad!!?!

Hmmm , I agree with all criticism here. I see a girl driving yellow car through parking garage.... and later there is her supposedly (boyfriend?) who she ditched to drive slowly some more around construction site? As someone working in a corporate environment I can see why this made the cut but as consumer, this add is doesn't make me want this car. They probably making 100 of these to appeal to different demographics. Waste of money. Build a car that people want and word of mouth will sell them for you, BMW.

I guess that BMW corporate doesn't like BMWs. I mean, one thing is to change, the other is changing to become like everybody else.
This ad reminds me of the newest Buick ad... one person says that the car that they are looking at is a Buick, and the other says "no, it is Alexa". They repeat this about 4 times in 30 seconds. Buick corporate does not like even their own name. |

Imagine how much their total cost was to produce this and the guaranteed lack of return it will yield. Big yikes. If you want to partner with Kith and target that demographic go for it, but this is not how you reel them in. THey are laughing at you. The enthusiasts are laughing at you. The ROW is confused what they are looking at with a video like this. Is this not kind of embarrassing for a marketing department to release and even more embarrassing someone thought, "Yes, this is going to work so well!".
I would love to hear anyone's input that actually works in marketing for larger companies/clients. |

Who thought that the dumb music should overshadow the exhaust note. This doesn't move my pulses, they should take a look at the 2018 Porsche GT3 RS ad. I on occasion crank the volume up on my OLED TV and Atmos Sound-bar to immerse myself in the adrenaline.

Using broke hipsters fresh out of college just cheapens the car and the brand. Would've worked well on a 20k car like a Civic, not a 65k sports car. (Guessing these are the USD MSRPs)
Notice how previous gen ads proudly shows the face and every angle of the car because the company believes that they created something beautiful. Now look at every single G8X ad out there, they're shifting angles, zooming in on the hipsters' faces while they scream, and driving in hidden parking lots to hide it from the public. Just own the face! Longer people get to see it the more they will accept it. |
